we get several emails a week from fake ebay websites asking us to update our account info. I've forwarded them to ebay and they don't seem to care.

I've recieved a few and I just hit delete as it's not worth reporting to eBay if they don't care. A simple trick to tell if the email's a fake: check the header. If it's not from ebay.com, it's a fake. If the email's asking for password or personal info, it's a fake as legimate eBay representive never ask for such info. And one last obvious sign the email's a fake: if it comes at your email address that is not registered with eBay. (I have multiple email addresses but only one's used for eBay)

we've had some that the header did say ebay.com but if you put the mouse pointer on the link they want you to click on it is not ebay.com. ebay tells you they will never ask you for account info in an email so there is no reason to respond to any email like that.

I just thought it was interesting that CNN decided to report on this one out of the ka-jillions that are out there. I delete all of the emails that come from psuedo ebay as well as the crap that ebay advertises.
