I've been talking with Eduardo about his ColecoVision version of Pac-Man, and I suggested that he include one of the following bonuses:

EXCITING NEW PAC-MAN PLUS
This is a Pac-Man upgrade which increased the game's difficulty and added new gameplay elements triggered by the energizers. Sometimes, they'd make the maze disappear, and other times only three monsters would be affected by the energizer, leaving the fourth one free to continue chasing you. Also, the fruits in the center of the screen are redrawn and act as safer, but more limited energizers.

EAT 'N RUN PAC MAN
This was an option exclusive to the Coleco Pac-Man tabletop game. It was quite different from the other Pac-Man conversions in that there were no dots; just energizers sapped of their monster frightening power. Pac-Man had to run from the box in the center of the screen to eat the energizers, then quickly run back to his home base to protect himself from the monsters. The more energizers you could gulp in a single run, the more bonus points you'd get.

So, if Eduardo is pressed for space (and it's highly likely that he will be) and could only include one of the two bonus games, which one would you prefer?

I literally can't decide. I liked both of those variations. What about the Coleco tabletop's head-to-head mode though? That might have more play value than either of the above.

I like the idea of the changes in Exciting New Pac-Man Plus myself. really adds replayabilty and challenege especially for those who have the ghosts movements and mazes memorized.

Ha! I've always LOVED that Eat 'n Run variation! That would so rock. It makes the game entirely different from "normal" Pac-Man, so that's what I vote for. Variety!

I hope things get better for you, Eduardo. Christmas isn't always a fun time of year... my car broke down for seems like the millionth time and my parents' present to me was having it fixed. Judging from past experiences, the latest repair will last a whole three weeks before I have to bring it into the shop again.

Head-to-head... Sounds interesting. Would you please explain me how does this mode work?
