Well, it was tough, it was either Halo 2 or Metroid Prime 2 for me. But due to the amount of fun i've had doing 8 player, I voted Halo 2.

Heh. The Valve folks seem to have done everything in-house.

I've been playing Counter-Strike: Source today, and wow. It's awesome. If you're tired of the linear stuff, cool your heels in CS:S a while; if it's too slow you can always engage in the barrel-tossing and shotgun-shooting contest known as HL^2:DM. I need to play Painkiller, though - but DOOM III definitely is nothing compared to HL2.

I voted Halo 2 this time because it's the only one I have, or played. And frankly, I'd probably enjoy Doom III if it had come out (On Xbox) this year. So Halo 2 wins this years vote. Even though it was so buggy and popup was horrible and I got tired of it too soon and haven't touched it in months.

I voted for Half-Life 2 but I would have rather gave Halo 2 a -1.

It was a toss up between Halo 2 and MP 2, but I went with MP2, because although I wasted more time with Halo 2, Metroid single player is definitely better.

i did not vote for halo 2. it is a very good game, but it is hyped way too much. compared to the physics engine in half life 2, it gets blown away in a cloud of smoke. the pc fps games are ages ahead of the console games.

i voted metroid prime 2, just because i am very impressed at seeing metroid in a fps format. i should have voted for half life 2 or doom 3 though, because like i said, the pc has been around much, much longer than the consoles, so their fps games are by far superior to that of any fps on any console

I voted Halo 2 as well, for pretty much all the reasons mentioned above. i gotta say though... the hype on Halo 2.... i personally think it was for the most part lived up to. an exciting single player mode and the addition of online. the ending was perhaps a bit lackluster, but overall... \m/

I guess since this is a console site, I shouldn't be surprised that Halo2 is winning over HL2. I'm guessing a lot of the people voting Halo2 over HL2 just haven't played HL2.

Chronicles of Riddick gets my vote, mostly because it came out of nowhere and is so chock full of goodness in almost every aspect.. Everybody knew that Half Life 2 and Halo 2 were going to rock, but a licensed movie game? Not so much. From graphics to atmosphere and gameplay, it really stood out in 2004.

gotta love the metroid goodness! I like the direction metroid is heading in.
I like it better in 3D First person than in 2D.
