I go for VJ2 - this is the style I wanna see in modern 2D-games. Capcom is encouraged enough, to keep this style in VJ... I´m looking forward to part 3!

Hate to admit it as I'm not much of a half-Life fan but it probably did have the best graphics this year , , though Doom 3 seems to have an equal amount of eye candy.

MGS3 offered more eye candy than I've seen. Could care less about super high resolutions on the PC. One llook at the final fight in the flower patch should be enough for everyone.

I'll choose Metal Gear Solid 3 for this one. It just seems so realistic and incredible... it's the little details that get me, though. Shooting off Ocelot's hat and taking a gander at the crab-infested corpses of unfortunate spelunkers are a couple quirks o' mine.

Anyone who votes for a console game in this poll, should go try and find someone with a 6800 Ultra or ATI 800 XT and have them crank up Doom 3 or Half Life 2 to hi res 1600X1200 with AA on. You will then definitely see the light. Makes console realistic and incredible look like cartoons

This is true.

However, my vote goes (once again) to HL^2 for reasons already mentioned.

DOOM III did "wow" me for having the seamless cursor-use screens and character models were good - but uninspired/dodgy/bad phsyics and body-explosion models (headless zombies leak a brain now?) and BAD TEXTURING in particular really cut this one off at the knees.

Another +1 for Half-Life 2 I played it on a Radeon 9800 Pro and it looks amazing. On the Geforce 6800 however... :rocker:

How can you vote got GTA in good conscience? I'll admit I haven't played the game or own it, but I've seen it, and it hardly looks like an improvement from the older incarnations of the franchise, and certainly doesn't hold a candle to titles like Half Life 2.

Even though I've never played it, I have to admit that all of the screenshots of Doom 3 that I've seen have looked absolutely astounding. Too bad I find FPS's so damn boring.

Can't believe Doom3's getting better graphics over Half-Life 2.

Doom3 looks good, but compared to Half-Life 2, there's no contest. HL2's animation wins by a landslide.

Dead or Alive Ultimate. Everything looks brilliant, From The Women to the Environments, everything just looks great.

Doom 3 looks nice, but everything is all shiny and plasticy and its dark.

HL2 you can see things in, everything looks crisp and not all shiny, and the animation is great.

Thought it came out a little earlier this year and has been somewhat forgotten, Chronicles of Riddick was just BEAUTIFUL. Nothing on the XBox can touch it, and Halo 2 barely holds a candle up to it.

Riddick gets my vote.
