As my neighbor put it... I fought the mountain and the mountain won.. I managed to break my collar bone skiing last week, so I'm down to only 1 hand right now. I've been trying to think of something I can play with only my right hand, but so far I have no ideas. Anybody know of something?? I'm starting to get really bored here!

Oh that sucks D:
My suggestion would be any mouse-based game, strategy especially ;) Console games is probably a bit harder one-handed with the controllers and all.

Hmm... maybe... Ms. Pac Man? Sorry, I had a few ideas, but they left me just as I was about to post. :/

Which hand can you use?
If it's the right, PC games are a WONDERFULL idea -- you can use the mouse very easlly and still enjoy a bunch of stuff.
Tough luck on the sking. I've fallen more times then I care to count -- big skiing fan. God help you if you hit a patch of black ice and don't know it (shudder).

Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 are both good choices. All you need to operate is the control stick.

Play console-based RPGs like Final Fantasy - You can win just about any battle by using one hand (and, if you so choose, keeping your eyes closed) by repeatedly tapping one button to confirm that you wish to attack, over and over and over again.

they make a 1-handed controller for PSX/PS2, ASCII by brand name if memory serves. I played Tony Hawk Underground with it with some very very modest success. I wasn't doing insane combos, to say the least but I got a few objectives done.

Left hand is completely immobolized, right hand is limited (can't go above my shoulder or too far forward or back).
I'm thinking this may be the time to pull Diablo back out!
Keir: I'd play DDR but considering I did this trying to stay on my feet (and failed), I think I'll stay away from anything requiring rhythm and or balance!! LOL LOL

If you have an N64, Wave Race 64, and some skills, you can play it one handed no problem. I used to it all the time when I had a broken arm. All you have to do: take the N64 controller and hold it by the middle. The Z button (index finger) controls acceleration just like the A button does. Now, since there's no brake in the game, all you have to worry about is how hard to accelerate, and how deep to cut on corners. You cna even play stunt mode this way.

Ahh, it's a shame it's not your left hand. Earthbound was an awesome game that you only needed one hand for. Unfortunately, it was a left-handed game. L button, arrows, and select were all you needed to do anything.

You can play the Pokemon series games on Gameboy.
I play Xevious one handed on Gameboy sometimes.
As already said most RPGs can work out one handed becasue of the battle type. I would suggest using your eyes though. You might get low on health.
Kirby's Air Ride i hear only uses the A button in conjunction with the stick so you could make that work.
I think your limits are based more on the controller layout or desiegn than the game style though.
I have played many many games with one hand.
That sucks though about breaking your collar bone. I was playing one handed to see if i could and/or because i was lazy.
Hint is use your thumb for D Pad and other fingers for buttons.

That reminds me if you have Top Gear for SNES i played that one handed alot too. I think used my pinky for Nitro ring for gas and i never use break.
Basically use your lap to hold the controller and if you can use everything except for the L and Rs. You can even get those if you are good enough tho.

Seriously, though, I play the Phantasy Star Collection on my SP one-handed.

If you have the DVD remote for PS2, some PSone RPGs work great with it :)

RPGs all the way.
If you're really good you can try playing some stuff with one hand...sorta grip the controller like you were palming a basketball, perhaps. With the NES that shouldn't be too hard.
Barring that, the Flash version of Zoo Keeper!

Feel the Magic XY / XX for the Nintendo DS
its all stylus based games and you can sit the DS on a desk
should work just fine for one hand, especially if your right handed (the had you have that isnt injured)

doesnt MARIOALLSTAR2600 have a hands free controller? maybe you could borrow that?

You don't "borrow" hands-free controllers... LOL
Nice thought, though.

you could tape down buttons for games that have auto-fire, or get an auto-fire controller, that could open up some possiblities for some shmups, especially earlier ones.
and, there's always good old minesweeper for windows. man, i do really love that game.

If you have a SNES mouse, there are a few good games that can be played one handed...

Atari is always great for one handed action. Just get the stick with the button on the top.

Thought of another one, Legend of legaia for playstation can be played with the analog sticks.
Each direction on the right stick represents the buttons :)

Unless I'm mistaken, Suikoden 3 can be played with just one hand. Doesn't matter which one.
