The topic for this thread is mis-leading. Sony Online made the game, but no where in the articles does it state that online play is part of the game. Just WiFi...

I know I know...You guys are thinking, "Look here f***er, Sony ONLINE made it! Get the Point!"

Just stating that it doesnt claim to be online.

I just wanted to post some news, anywho it's nice Sony is actually going to do something like this, but you hit it on the nail about the WiFi. I don't know why Sony would try to cover it up with "Sony ONLINE" as the name...oh well

I'm sorry, I didnt mean for it to sound like I was attacking your thread. I'm glad you mentioned it, now I have something to watch and see if they will implement actual online play, considering that WiFi is easily subject to such an instance. Of course, then we all run into the "server" problems that we had with the consoles. Of course, Xbox Live lucked out and figured out what was best.

I was just pointing out that it doesn't claim to be online. It might be online for all I know. It's not really an "in-depth" article, just a preview. So in short, I just don't want to come off sounding like a prick trying to insult your topic choices. I leave that for in #Vbender (on Efnet)

No offense taken at all, I just simply meant I understood your point :)

I dig news posts.

And this type of game is EXACTLY what I wanted to see on PSP- something like Champions of Norrath or Baldur's Gate:DA. I just hope you can change the zoom on the player- it would suck to only be able to see right next to the characters. I'm still very excited about PSP- at least it will have some vaguely interesting launch titles.

Is the DS vs. PSP board still around? This belongs there, doesn't it?

Hey everyone,

Don't hold me to this, but as far as I know and from what I have heard it sounds like there is a good chance the PSP will launch in March. Accessories for the PSP are due out the middle of Feb. so hopefully if everything stays on track, the PSP will be soon to follow. Also, I have heard that the PSP might run for $179.99. I guess only time will tell but it should be very soon. Take Care Everyone :D

EDIT : Like how i used the dollar sign, but proceeded to say "US Dollars" anyway? ;)

Yes it does. What do you think the "O" in 'MMORPG" stands for?

I assume you are referring to the Genre that the Preview put the game under...

I think that they labeled it as MMORPG due to a lack of a proper name for the genre for the time being. Didn't quite fit the Action/Adventure labeleh?

I'm not saying it isn't so. I just haven't read anything about how online play is set up for the PSP. Are they planning on doing it like the PS2? or move towards the more friendly Live type setup? Maybe internet play is pointless on a handheld. Than again, it's not just a handheld gaming device.
