Will a new major console be released in 2005 in US?

Will either the PS3, XBOX 2 or Nintendo Revolution be actually available on retail shelves in the United States at some point in the year 2005?

I dont think so, but anythings possible though. But knowing me I wouldnt really care cause in order for me to buy a new system it has to be:

1. At least a year old
2. Has to have several must have games for it

So if any of them do come this year I wont get em til '06, if not then I'll get em in '07

To the six people who voted the Xbox 2 would be out, it's rumoured that it won't even be shown at E3, so that probably puts that out of the picture.

Actually, it would be pretty sweet if the PSP had a Video output and a controller output.

Like the Sega Nomad does. Then it pretty much would count as a home console.

Well, if any of the big three get a console released in time for Christmas this year, it will be Nintendo. Both Sony and Microsoft have publicy said their systems won't be out until 2006 or maybe even 2007. Nintendo has said they wanted to get theirs out first. So there's a SMALL chance it may be out by the end of the year, but I still think 2006 is more realistic.

Now, the PSP will get launched in the States this year.....and maybe some other handheld systems. And perhaps we might even see the Phantom? LOL LOL LOL

None are coming out. All of the consoles now are still going strong and have life to them
Hell i mean PS3 coming out when PSOne had its last game made for it about 1 year before?

Xbox is stil going fine right now too.

If anyone comes out early it will be Nintendo.
They have to to really hold their own.

The last significant jump seemed to be with the Sixth Generation- Mario 64, Spiro the Dragon, Banjo-Kazooie, etc. were all not really possible with the 16-Bit (Fifth) generation. In fact, it was Mario 64 that said "next generation is THIS."

Nintendos Revolution will be out before the end of the year i think.
they have made to many comments about beating the competition to store shelves with a new console.
the XBOX 2 is a SLIGHT possibility but I dont see the rush to get these new systems out anyway.
the Xbox hasnt been pushed to its full potential.
the Gamecube hasnt reached its peak potential yet. mostly due to the lack of third party companies focus on PS2 and even Xbox. but this fact may change when the new Zelda is released.
The PS2 is just now reaching its limits but I still believe there are many great games left in the so-called "graphically weakest" of the 3.
any way it doesnt matter to me at all since I have no interest whatsoever in upgrading to a new system until I get all the games I want for both my PS2 and Xbox and that will take a looooong time. Anyway Im going to pick up a cheap cube system again also so I have no need for a new 300 to 500 dollar PS3 or Xbox 2.

Now I'm not 100% sure on this, but it seems like I've heard almost everywhere that Xbox 2 will be out 2005, then PS3 and Revolution will be out in 2006. I also read comments from a Nintendo CEO or something that they want to release the Revolution at the same time as the major competition (PS3). I believe this was all in the newest EGM too...but of course all of that info is a month old.

I doubt very much that we'll see a new console this year, in all seriousness. It doesn't matter if one does come out. I don't see myself interested in another new console.

I have to wonder if XBox 2 development is diverting significant Microsoft resources away from Longhorn, which has also been delayed a few times. (To think a game console may have such an impact on history!)

i doubt it....if there is one it will be xbox 2, but i doubt we will see anything untill E3
