View Full Version : Wait a second! The N64 i got years ago new is rare?

A few years ago i got a new n64 for £50 for my birthday just as they started to go out of fashion over here. Alogn with F-Zero X for £9.99 :-)
I got a pokemon bundle one that came with Pokemon Stadium, the transfer pack and a Pokemon Video (Here is a picture of the console, i can take a picture of the box and inserts if anyone is interested...)

I have never seen another one of these around since, its as if i own the only one!
i only see the one with pikachu making the n64 look about 200% bigger...

Which hasnt been updated since late 2003, but they didnt know what this one was or where it came from either
So i was jsut wondering if this could be a possible rarity? and if anyone has any info on it?

Oh ya, the Euro edition was much more different the USA verison
I would have to say the PAL edition of Pikachu 64 is pretty high at the moment

I know over here it sells for between 60 and 80 bucks.
I am sure there have been sales lower and higher than that but that is pretty much what i see it average.
I think the highest i saw one was 120 and the lowest was 35.

I just saw one of the US ones here for 25 bucks. Probably should pick it up, but i dunno.

I have seen the giant Pickachu one several times but never the one cauterize has. I guess that's the Europe edition. I wouldn't mind seeing the box pics since I like that sort of stuff. It also sounds like the Europe version got more bundled with it.

well why not get a pal one if you are ntsc and a craving pokefan, then simply do a switcheroo with the guts. I'd admit the "elongated" US one looks a bit unnatural.

Nah here in the UK we had the massive one. Not the one this fellas got we had the same one as you, my little cousins got one. Is it a high caliber mod?

Yeah that one looks better that the US one, but I don't hate the US one. I'm not sure how rare it is, but I can't ever remember seeing one.
Now that's one for thing for me to seek out since I'm starting to collect N64 console variants.
There's nothing funnier than when I'm running "Hey You Pikachu!" on my Pikachu console.
It's like a massive sugary overdose of cute.

The PAL one I think was released in gboth designs. The second one being nicer!
I wouldn't say they were super-rare though. Maybe a little more than the standard consoles. Same goes for the coloured versions.

Nope, straight from the box brand new for my birthday a few years ago!
The oversized one with the pikachu was also released here, i still need to pick that up
well its nice to know i have a fairly uncommon N64 then :)

Yep, we got both of those in the UK - I've got a boxed one of each from my N64 console collecting phase. The first time I saw the little one like Caut's was in a second hand shop and I thought some kid had gone mad with a set of stickers, but they really did come like that. I can drag 'em down from the loft and take pics if anyone really wants to see them.

Ultimately, I just didn't need more *stuff* taking up space. Even if I took it just to trade or sell it, it would a) be *stuff* taking up space for some period of time and b) not be worth the effort involved in selling/trading it, packing it up, and shipping it. By not taking another bare (and in this case, hideous looking) console that I didn't actually want, I saved myself both space and time - two things I don't have enough of. But thanks for the insight there. I'll be sure to contact you next time I need to make a decision.
