NFL Blitz 2000 is a Sega All-Stars as well. I just checked my Dreamcast collection and saw it. Pictures can be provided for proof. :)

To make things easier to read update the original list.
Less likely people will add the same thing again and again.

Bumping a bit of an old topic here, but I'm starting to think about collecting these too... Was this it in the way of variations?
Also, can anyone confirm Hydro Thunder for me? That's the only one I don't remember seeing.

There are 18 Dreamcast SAS releases. They were:
Power Stone
Ready 2 Rumble
Hydro Thunder
Marvel vs. Capcom
Sonic Adventure
NFL 2K
NFL 2K1
NBA 2K
NBA 2K1
NHL 2K
World Series Baseball 2K1
House of the Dead 2
Sega Bass Fishing
Crazy Taxi
NFL Blitz 2000
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Virtua Tennis
There are only 17 listed there, I can't remember the 18th one. Collecting an entire set of these shouldn't be too difficult--maybe around $125 shipped.
Edit: I'm not sure if there was an 18th one, but I seem to remember there being one as I was collecting. :hmm:
Be warned however--Marvel vs. Capcom SAS and Power Stone SAS are two of the rarest (I do mean rare) games from the US region.

I brought this up earlier, over a year ago

I'd disagree with the notion that these are easy to find, try to find MvC and Power Stone Sega All-Star version, impossible, yes I've seen them back in 2001 but never thought of picking them up as I never liked Sega All-Star version, but that was another story. Next impossible to find is Hydro Thunder, yup, K-Mart has it in 2001 and again, never thought about the rarity.
I think the list is complete, 17 all, I'll update if I find the 18th title.

Oddly enough, I've seen quite a number of Marvel Vs. Capcom All Stars. In fact, I have one in my collection....
Never thought they were rare. Never saw a Power Stone though...
I still haven't decided if I'm going to do this, but I kinda want to take my All Stars out of my collection and put them aside... Since I have a complete set of Dreamcast games already, this just seems like something worth doing... and since seven of them are really cheap sports titles...
Hunh... We'll have to see :)

I've got 16. I'm only missing Ready 2 Rumble Boxing.
Power Stone does have the Sega All Stars logo, by the way. I know I started a thread about that, but don't know if I ever updated it.

Nope. It's the only one I'm currently missing. I'm working on setting up the ol' Room of Doom at my new house (I have to repaint the basement and figure out a little more about a leak that we thought was fixed... arrrrrrrgh!)
Does anyone here actually have a picture of Ready 2 Rumble as an All*Star? I believe it exists and all, but I have not seen it myself and I've been actively searching since I last posted in this forum...

I wonder if they were duped. That graphic really looks like it was hacked together, and I have never seen a picture of an actual one, nor heard of someone owning it. I'd love to see someone come forward with it.
I also completed another Dreamcast "set" this weekend. I got the Sonic Dreamcast set (with Sonic Adventure, Sonic Shuffle and blue VMU), which was the last US box variation that I need for the set. I have the original white, Sega Sports, Sega Smash Pack, Sonic and standard dark ones now :)
Can't wait to actually display it all in my RoD :D

Wow... I actually have something DC that goatdan doesn't. :D
I'm 17 games shy of the whole collection and when I hit about 50 games left, I started keeping variants as they came in. So here's my All-Star collection (at 12 games), INCLUDING the puzzled over Ready 2 Rumble. Oddly enough, I checked and the disc is exactly the same as the original. No difference at all.

Also... www.dreamcasthistory.com is a good site to find DC info at. It does list the all-star versions individually beside the normal releases.

Ummm.... not even a "Sega All Stars" stamp on the disc? Did you buy the game sealed? If you got it opened, you likely have the incorrect disc. So far, every SAS disc has that stamp, including Marvel vs Capcom.

Actually, that isn't odd at all. I had a thread detailing which Sega All*Stars games did and didn't have the logo because I witnessed someone open a new 2K1 game and it not have the All*Stars logo on it. That thread is here:
http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=57330&highlight=dreamcast+stars
For a recap, the games without logos are Hydro Thunder, NBA 2K1, NFL 2K1, NFL Blitz 2000 and, apparently, Ready 2 Rumble. Power Stone (I never updated this myself :( ) does have the All*Stars logo.
And don't worry, while my collection is vast and contains some very unique things, I'm still missing some pretty common stuff. I don't have a Sega Bass Fishing non-All*Stars, for instance. Then again, I just picked up this:

goatdan: Coooooooooooooooool. I'd so wear that. All I have is one of those common black Dreamcast tees.
Yeah, I checked and my copies of NBA and Blitz do not have the stamp. The Ready 2 Rumble was NOT mine originally (I rarely buy new games), so it could have been switched... but I find that unlikely.

I might wear it around when I show off the new Dreamcast games we're working on, if I can ever get the time to get out to any shows ;)

I would tend to think it wouldn't have it. After all, all of the other Midway All*Stars discs did not have the stamp on it (Hydro Thunder and NFL Blitz).

The red disc is also used on the Hot! New! version of the game, just so you are aware.
I should check them tonight to see if they are identical or not.

Going through my All Stars I noticed that none of the 2K or 2K1 sports titles i've got don't have the SAS logo on it. Some I bought new myself, and others have come used. Have I been short changed and need to hunt out the different discs?
Here's what i've got and the disc types
Crazy Taxi W/ SAS
House Of The Dead W/ SAS
NBA 2K1 No SAS
NFL 2K No SAS
NFL 2K1 No SAS
NHL 2K No SAS
Power Stone W/ SAS
Sega Bass Fishing W/SAS
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater W/ SAS
Virtua Tennis ?? (copy still sealed)
World Series Baseball 2K1 ?? (copy still sealed)

NBA 2k - w/SAS

NHL 2k - w/SAS
NFL 2k - w/SAS
World 2k1 - w/SAS
Virtua Tennis - w/SAS
I'm in the same boat as you - most of these I didn't buy new, so I don't know for sure about that NBA 2k1. But Dan notes in the below thread that NBA 2k1 doesn't have the stamp.

Not all of the games have the All*Star logo on the discs... See this thread for more info about it:
http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=622256
I just updated it with the information in this thread. As a quick recap, none of the following are known to have the All*Stars logo - Hydro Thunder, NBA 2K1, NFL 2K1, NFL Blitz 2000 and Ready 2 Rumble. Everything else has been known to have one. Whether or not that means that every All Stars copy came packaged with an All Star disc or not is debateable, just that there was a pressing that had the All*Stars logo on them.

Well, about the time they would have all-stared it, they released v2 of PSO. As for Soul Calibur, who knows? It sold well throughout the lifespan of the system so maybe they didn't want to reduce the price.

Companies tend to do this when stuff sells REAL well. Look at Halo... STILL no Platnium hits version. Super Smash Brothers Melee is the same way (they pulled it out of PC, and brought it back out as just a regular release again).
Soul Calibur sold incredibly well, and was the bench mark for the DC, even as a launch title. Also the third party companies like to recoup costs and since going platnium/sas/gh ect is just really a drop in fees for the publisher to release a good selling game, not everything gets such treatment.

It also seems as if Sega had a deal with Midway and Capcom, as those were the only two third parties to get any Sega All*Stars releases. It is notable that the third party All*Star games are by far the hardest to find, so I assume that what happened was that they only produced a few thousand of them as All*Stars.
