View Full Version : Overreacting on my Find?

People on GameFAQs and IGN think so. I found a sealed FFT (NON-GH) for $29.99.

I also found BoF3 for $19.99 sealed. There was one more left, should I get it to hang on to?

Definately overreacted I think.

These are average prices for these particular games sealed. I bought my BOFIII a few months ago in the same condition for less from a contact I have in Philly, so if anything you paid over the odds!

And i'm guessing you are using eBay to compare your prices? I wouldn't always go on what eBay says - They probably only get such high prices on eBay because English people are buying them.

I am interested in getting FFT though. Does the place you got it from have any more? And was it in it's original cellophane or was it shrinkwrapped?

And yes, I think you should get the other BOFIII and hang on to it - That price is still very cheap, and it will certainly be worth a bit more in the next 10 years.

Its not overpaying if YOU feel that they are worth it. That sounds about the going rate for BoF III, and a sealed FF:T that isnt a GH for 30 seems a little steep, but if your itching for a set of non-gh stuff its not something to scoff at. Tactics is also worth more sealed like that, than it is open.

I wish I had sold my sealed FFT original before the GH came out..... :(

$30 for sealed FFT non-gh is ok, not great but not bad. I don't think its too uncommon though. Depends if you think the non-gh version is worth $10 more than the one in stores now, I guess it is. It will be down the road a bit atleast.

hmmm..i was under the impression that a sealed FFT non-GH was pretty dang rare. the game was going for $80+ opened before the GH version came out.

edit: can't go by BIN's i know but

The value of FFT just dropped like a ROCK when the GH came out. Now I could'nt even get $20 for my sealed copy. :(

Perhaps you could sell it to Big Papa Husker? ;)

Sure you can use eBay to judge. Notice how nobody jumped on that BIN?

Did you also notice that tried selling it for $239.99 before?

Nobody wants to pay that much, so it's definitely nowhere near it's actual value.

I payed $10 for the Non-GH FFT, but it wasnt sealed. I think ill hang onto my sealed one for a while.

I'd said it was a fairly poor deal myself. I don't know if you have a Circuit City by you or not, but Breath of Fire 3 was one of the many games going for 4.99 during the hugh clearance last year.

Mind you, Final Fantasy VII seemed to do alright! Lol!

So is it a million copies it has to sell before it turns Platinum / Greatest Hits? Or is the figure higher?

At least you can always say that your FFT is one in a million... Cos it could turn out that fifteen million of the game have been sold, but 14 million would have been the Greatest Hits versions... (Rough figures used as an example, so don't flame me!)

I still have my played and original copy of FFT. Bought it with my PlayStation in Feb 98. Oldest PSX game in my collection (not when made, but how long I've had it.)

I think a million is the bench mark, but it's not cut and dry.

From what I've heard, FFT was one of those games that didn't sell a million before getting the GH treatment. I think they moved it to GH status because FF VII (and maybe FF VIII) were there and GH labelling *does* move units.

I was pretty excited about finding my FFT used for $20 (CAD) awhile back - I don't see anything wrong with getting excited over finding a sealed copy for a good price (especially if you're a FF fan).

I agree. No, I think Big Papa Husker ( LOL ) here was thinking what pretty much any PSX gamer would have thought. So this means the GH version is the rare one, huh? Wierd.

And just because some greedy mofo is asking that price, does not mean he is going to get it. I could quite easially advertise my WWF Attitude for £200, but no one will buy it.

Anyway, $199 is way too much. Even for me which converts to about £110 at the moment. Stupid and very very greedy.

Well, I'll sell my non-GH copy of FFT, complete.

I can always buy the GH version -- I don't care what it is, since I'm not a collector anyway. ;)

If you're interested, send me a PM with a offer.
