Maybe that ass seller who responded to my question on one of these auctions was right -- people are stupid enough to bid on them and EBay does'nt do anything about it.

I think eBay would do something about it if told, actually. In this case the (picture) tag really doesn't alert you immediately (unless, like us, you're familiar with such auctions), and in many of these auctions there is no mention of it being a picture at all in the title. One would simply report it as being misleading. If "handbag (not estee chowder)" is banned, so is "XBox video game system" (that turns out to be a picture.

I think this is a gag aimed at the recent auction for an Xbox picture, at about the price of an Xbox. Seriously, I think this is a joke.

This is for a very nice picture of a USED XBOX SYSTEM with MANY EXTRAS. It includes Halo and Halo 2(lightly used),all the wires, 2 green contollers ( one is the actual halo controller), a Logitech wireless controller,a 16MB memory card, and a headset. Everything is lightly used and in very good condition. This is only a picture of the xbox and accessories.

by that description its actually a picture of a used xbox

if they want to piss around with wordplay to con people they better get good at it !!!

I don't think that the seller was joking around, notice that the opening bid was $40.00. I think that he was really looking to scam someone. The current price is probably the result of bidders who know better and have throw away accounts fucking around with the shady seller.

I agree with some here that it's a fake auction. The high bidder has a 0 buying history, meaning that someone just opened the account to mess around with this auction. Or maybe it's the seller himself hoping to catch himself a fly. :evil: (Those who saw Pulp Fiction will understand the inside pun).

Well, guess what? The auction ended normally...the seller didn't cancel it. Does he actually expect the winner to pay that much for a photo? How much will Ebay's commission be on an auction this size? :D
