WHat button do you hold down for 480P on PS2?

I know that with some of the 480P PS2 games you need to hold down a certain button, or something like that, when turning on your PS2, for that games 480P mode to activiate.

In some of the games, you actually go into the options menu and select 480p, but in some of the older 480p games, you had to do some type of button trick.

Does anybody know what you have to do?

I have Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain, and I know it has a 480p mode, but I don't know how to activate it.

Doesn't "The Getaway" have a 480p mode too?

I don't know how to activate it.


I thought that you held X down and pressed up on the directional pad, but that isn't doing anything.

by the way, I've heard that the trick is to hold down the triangle and X buttons at the same time while the game is first booting up.

thats how it is for star ocean 3, but i'm not sure about other games.
