Beatmania Newbie... HELP!

Alright, I just bought 2 of the 5-key beatmania controllers. I have tried playing Beatmania and Beatmania Best Hits, and it works, but there's a problem. The black keys are fine, but the white keys are all 1 off. The left triggers the middle, middle the right, and right the turntable. In-game the turntable does nothing. Is there an option that would fix this? Is it incompatible w/ a US PSX for some reason? HELP!

I rarely play beatmania (more of a Pop'n music person), but I'm pretty sure there's an option to turn the table on auto mode, meaning it will do all of those bars by itself. I know this is a slight chance, but have you tried playing the game without a memory card in? Perhaps you went into the options and messed with the controls and saved it?

Maybe the controllers were set to Normal (Dual Shock) instead of Original (Beatmania controller). That's the option I'd look for first in the Options menu if the controller is misbehaving.

And yes, the game is tough to get good at. ;-) Keep at it, though.

Ain't that the truth. I still remember getting European Beatmania and thinking Manmachine Plays Jazz and The Earth Light were insanely hard. Heh.

YES. When I beat Manmachine Plays Jazz for the first time I thought I was the shit. 2 years later, I'm still failing A on 7key.

I recently got the Controller (PsOne) 5 Button + Turntable one, but no game was with it and i cant find a single iso over the net!!
Anyone able to make an iso for me please n share it with me?
I would appreciate this so much

I <3 Guitar Freaks. Takes time to get good at it...and with the arcade version, you're stuck playing Cutie Pie over and over. At least it's a good song.

While I suck at this - I enjoy it. How does this compae to Pop'n Music? I may have to check that out.

Pop'n is generally the same, with 2 massive differences.

1) There are 9 buttons and they're 4 times as big as the beatmania buttons.

2) Instead of being general techno/trance/house/hip-hop/jungle, Pop'n Music covers every. Single. Genre. Of music.

I started with DDR, moved to IIDX, and ended with Pop'n.
