Is Virtua Fighter 2 out for PS2 yet? If so, does anybody own or has anyone at least played it?

It was released in Japan on October 14. No plans for a US release.

I haven't played it but I've heard it isn't that great.

VF2 looked really impressive in that video. Looks arcade perfect to me. I used to own a deluxe version of VF2 so I should know!

How do you know it won't? Most of the other sega ages releases seem to be getting US release dates.

If it does come out around these parts it will almost certainly come in a compilation. I've heard it was fine for Sega to release the Sega Ages collection separately in the land of the rising sun, but it not in the good old U S of A. I don't blame Sony. How many people have actually played VF2 in the states? Maybe somewhere in the hundreds of thousands back in the 90's. I doubt many people could really give a fuck about VF2 today (in the US). Japan is a different story. The VF series is huge there.

Hey now, there's a VF machine in an episode of The X-Files (lightning boy one)! You never seem to hear about it, though...probably didn't get millions of players.

There was a VF machine in the movie "Man of the House" starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas. It was even featured in the trailer!
