hi folks,
I am working on one of my sites ( TurboPlay Magazine Archives (http://home.comcast.net/~turboplay-magazine-archives-tg16/) ) and I would appreciate any info you can provide on the PUBLISHING HISTORY of:
(1) duoworld ... When the TurboDuo console was released, TurboPlay magazine was reborn as "duoworld". I only own one issue (July / August 1993) and have a fragment of another issue (can't remember details off-hand, except that there is a "Beyond Shadowgate" 2-page poster in it)... but that's ALL i know about this magazine. Does anyone have details on its publication history? Anyone have any issues?
(2) turboforce ... This was T.T.i.'s quarterly magazine to promote their new TurboDuo launch. I never knew there was a fourth issue (June 1993?) until i saw it on ebay a few months ago. i was outbid. anyone have this fourth issue? were there any others after this?
thanks in advance.
also: if you can contribute to the Archives in any way, please don't hesitate to drop me a note. Even reporting broken links or illegible scans would be greatly appreciated. thanks again! :)

I forwarded this to a person responsible for the magazine back in the day. He's got all the information you need :)
PS great project. Let us know when it's all set up!

Thanks to all who responded :)
1. j_eits: Yes, my goal is to have 75% of all the content available by spring 2005. Right now, that would be 18 issues (14 turboplay, 3 turboforce, 1 duoworld) ... each of which are 32 pages in length. Hopefully, we'll be adding some issues of duoworld and some other items to the list. Keep your fingers crossed.
currently, the following pages are available for TurboPlay:
a) all reviews
b) all "Games Around the World" columns (import coverage)
c) all special feature columns
d) many advertisements, a page or two from the strategy guides
e) all letters to the editor
2) thanks cratermaze! I replied via PM.
3) thanks digital press! 100% appreciative. no, make that 250% grateful. :)
4) other folks: don't hesitate to share your thoughts on these TG-16 magazines. :)

I have a bunch of promotional stuff that I got sent when the Duo was first being introduced, as well as this crazy plastic card, maybe about the width of a credit card and twice the height, that compared the TG-16 to the Genesis. I know I also have 6 issues of TurboPlay around here.
Now, the plastic card, and the issues of TurboPlay are in my possession, but the rest are back at my parent's place. I have a scanner, old and never tested with this computer, but it should work, so i should be able to provide scans of the stuff i have.
Hold on a few... lemmie update my profile with my working email address - blackjax@gmail.com - lemmie see what I have already scanned...
EDIT:
TurboPLAY... not TurboZone... I ran across a few of those old ads too... if i can get this scanner working, lets talk.

I like the site, I'm interested to see this when it's all finished up, would love to read some old turbografx/duo reviews.

hellvin: my friend, ALL of TurboPlay's reviews (around 47 reviews spread out over 14 issues) are ALREADY available! check it out! NOTE: some of the scanned images are corrupted... i'll have to fix that.
blackjax: ROCK ON! I am intrigued. I'll send you an email. Thanks in advance for your help! INTRIGUED, I tell you! The item you described sounds perfect for this other site i'm working on: TurboGrafx-16 Preservation Society (http://home.comcast.net/~turbografx-preservation-society/) (coming in spring 2005)
LAZY B'STARDS:
ok, i'm feeling sorry for hellvin... I wasn't going to make this page available yet, but i'm sure some folks will appreciate it:
*** READ TG-16, TG-CD and DUO reviews here ! Brand New feature at the Archives! **** (http://home.comcast.net/~turboplay-magazine-archives-tg16/video_game_reviews.html)
It provides links to 51 reviews... now you don't have to go through each individual issue searching for the reviews.
Similar pages will be made to summarize the other columns in TurboPlay (i.e. the import column, the letters to the editor, etc.)... plus the site map will be updated and expanded with all of this info. Yes, I want navigation for the site to be intuitive and all the info easilly accessible.
thanks again to all!
EDIT: I worked on the page o' reviews and uploaded it. The temporary page (should you have it bookmarked) is outdated and will be removed shortly.
