Just one quick question I'm hoping someone here has some info on. I recently heard a rumor that Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance would be coming out for the PS2 in the US. Before, I had heard that it was an XBox exclusive. Can anyone clear this up for me? Is Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance being released for the PS2 in the US? If so, can you point me to an article about it? I can't find anything on IGN. Thanks for your help.

:/ Ack...I have a sneaking suspiscion that I may be receiving MGS2 PS2 for christmas. The question now is, do I return it after christmas and receive full price, or do I play it and enjoy it, knowing that I'm going to want the new one, and that this one will be worth nothing? Decsions, decisions.

I say, keep it. It's free, it's a Christmas present, and it's gonna be a while before Substance is going to be available to play, so this one'll keep you busy.

You're kidding, right? Don't you work in a Toys' R Us? I should be asking YOU that question, dude!
Well I used GOOGLE on the internet and found this:

Top-secret weapons technology is being mysteriously transported under cover of an oil tanker to an unknown destination. It’s up to Snake to infiltrate the transport and keep this deadly weapon of mass destruction from falling into the wrong hands!
350+ VR Missions and 150+ Alternate Missions!
M5 all-new "Snake Tales" side stories!
Hidden playable characters and new game modes!
Contains the entire “Sons of Liberty” game

Yeah, Joe, he doesn't work in the R-Zone!!!
I don't even know what that is.. and boys? They have separate sections for boys and girls in the store?
Nevertheless.. Kaine, you are required to KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOUR STORE. Anyone wearing a store uniform of the store they are inside MUST know everything. There is no try, only do, or do not.

If it were me getting MGS2 for Xmas I'd make the swap. Substance is going to be superior in every way. The original is merely a subset of Substance.
I've actually read that Substance was going to be the actual release but they rushed it to market without the extras. Makes sense really - the game is pretty short by today's standards.

Really? in terms of the central game, I'd say that MGS2 is just as long, if not longer, than the original Metal Gear Solid. Sons of Liberty is just lacking in extra modes, at least for its American release.
My advice: Get MGS2 for free this Christmas, WiseSalesman, and if you love it and want more, pick up MGS2: Substance. I for one will be buying Substance sometime next year just because it's got Meryl in it.

Yeah, Toys R Us now has a clothing section (boys and girls)...came as a shock to me the last time I visited. Personally I think it's retarded for a toy store to carry clothes.

Well, I knew Toys R Us had a clothing line.. Except here in Maine, its housed within a separate store right next door to Toys R US (can't think of the name.. Kids R Us, I think.)
I was referring to the toy store itself being divided into sections, but, if the clothing is included in the same store where Kaine works, then my bad.

I don't know the actual lengths of either game but MGS felt longer to me. Maybe because you're actually *playing* instead of watching stupid movies. That's another topic though.
I enjoyed MGS2 but felt it could've been longer. And I normally enjoy shorter games (because I actually finish them in a reasonable amount of time).
