Anyone seen these? Apparently it's a series of budget titles that have been ebing made since the PSX days, you can get them on import sites for 25 bucks even. They have very interesting game ideas, some are simple stuff like cards or billiards, and then they have games where you pilot a helicopter and try to stop a giant bikini girl from smashing the city. Anyone played these, have suggestions as to which ones to get?

I've played Vol. 68, which as far as I can tell is basically steal a car on the highway, find your "target" and crash him and steal the breifcase that he drops. Sounds like a cheap GTA, which it sort of is, but the fact that each car has a different speedometer and gas gauge is really cool, and yeah, gas matters in the game. Sometimes you'll steal a car and it's almost out of gas, or if you crash too much you start leaking gas. You don't see fuel concerns in car games much, it's pretty cool.

I have 7 or 8 of them now, most are ok and some are really good. I like Love Upper & Mahjong, The Oane Chan Bara (girl in a bikini, cowboy hat with a sword!) and The Chikyuuboueigun (giant ants and space ships attack, tons of weapons to choose from).

I like the 3 on 3 basketball too.

Yep. I love the Simple 2000 series. I always include at least one with any purchase I make from import sellers.

So d3p is the creator of these? According to this page (http://www.d3p.co.jp/english/GALLERY1.htm) the series sold 7 million copies from October - November 2001! Wow.

They also have a "publications" page (http://www.d3p.co.jp/english/GALLERY2.htm) which holds the Simple 1500 Useful (as opposed to the regular Simple 1500 series, I believe those are just games) software titles for regular PlayStation.

Looks nice, very nice.

I don't recommend Vol. 95 The Zombie VS Kyuukyuusha. It was very disappointing
for me and I have been having rather good luck with Simple 2000 games lately.
I was getting ready to write up a brief review of it along with Vol. 64: The
Splatter Action, which I did enjoy.

I myself have Gatchaman: The Shooting (Vol. 08 from the Simple 2000 Series on PS1). From the looks of it, I may have to give it a whirl (looks like a decent shmup). And sure enough, it has D3's name on it, as well as Bandai's.
