I have never sold on ebay, so I don't know about the fees and all. How much would it cost to start an item with an extremely high price like this one? I thought you only had to pay ebay if the item actually sold.

You're charged a listing fee based on what you start the auction at (higher the price, more you pay). If the item sells, then they take a chunk of the final price too.
