Ikaruga Chain Lengths?

Ikaruga.....chains.....whats the highest you've achieved?
Just curious, I just got this game and needless to say it is absolutely fantastic...I'm just curious what the "high-end" of the scale is for players....kinda what I should try and strive for :-D

Hmmm... chaining isn't really something I've worked on, but I think the highest chain I got was 18.

I haven't even gotten the game yet, but I seem to remember reading some comments by people at gamefaqs.com saying they had gotten up to around 75.

75???? GOD, I've only played thru the first 3 stages and I've hit an 11 chain......man 75 ? :o

I got a chain of 8 I think. I didn't actually try and activlely chain, though. And I don't really like Ikaruga much, to be honest.

I honestly believe my highest was close to 90. I was working on chains only, and wow, my score was through the roof! I haven't come close to that again though, sigh.

I have to admit though, like deadtech, my enthuasim for this game has kind of faded a bit. It's beautiful to look at and it does have some neat concepts, but I didn't care too much for the dark/light thing when Treasure used it in Silouette Mirage, and I still don't like it in Ikaruga.

It's far from the worst shmup I've ever played (Earth Defence, anyone?) but I tend to like my shooters manic Cave style all reflex/no thinking type affairs.

I hear you there, I agree, but incidentially thats why I like this game because its not just shoot everything not matter what, its just different...

Got a 27 chain so far....75 and 90 seem way far off ! x_x

I may be off on my chain number, but it was high. I don't want anyone to think I'm lying, but it was pretty damn high.

I really really had to concentrate to get it that high. I was playing for hours straight with high chains ass my only goal. I think that was how I burnt myself out with the game. :)

My highest chain is 42. I've been able to get to level 3 on one credit on the default settings so far. I've hit about 2.5 million points as well. Superb game, best shooter I've played in years.
