Grey atari joystick

Today at the flea market I found a grey atari vcs joystick. It is exactly the same as a normal official atari stick, but the plastic is light grey instead of black. WTF is this thing? Was there a light grey system?

I'll post a pic later. Right now it is in pieces on the floor because I'm cleaning it.
