Since I missed out on most of the first year of Retro Gamer Magazine, I was thrilled to see the Retro Gamer Anthology on the Newsstand at Barnes and Noble this evening. The editors of RG compiled the best articles of the first year of the mag, and added some new content, 164 pages in all. I'm not kidding when I say that this is hands down the best video game writing I've ever read. I never even knew the game Elite existed, but after reading the 10 page, New Yorker-length article, I can't wait to download it and try it out! The whole issue just has so much good stuff in it, tomorrow it will be by my side during commercials of NFL playoffs. If you have a B&N nearby you, you owe it to yourself to spend the $15 and check it out. I can't recommend this magazine enough.

That does look pretty interesting. Guess I'm headed to the mall tomorrow after work. Thanks for the heads up!

Sounds pretty cool. The artciel probably has the link but you can download
legally any of the versions of Elite off the designers homepage inlcuding the
rare NES version:

Cool beans. I like RG Magazine a lot, and since I don't have all of last years issues I'll definately try and pick this up if I can find it.
