thanks to toddst and harvards lovely printers i now have assembled all of the complete neo-classic systems lists into a three ring binder. so let this serve as notice to anyone attending our next trademeet that theres a new judge on the bench! gone are the days of "all non sports, non RPG games are worth roughly the same so lets call it a deal" HAHAHA now we'll be getting the offical word. even though i've done some head scratching while reading over the guide's values i'm humble enough to go along with them for trading purposes.
over all it looks like another great job, although i do miss the flags, frowny faces and santulli slants. even those were matters of taste they really added another dimension to the guide. my binder and i are eagerly awaiting the game gear and other sections to come. thanks to everyone involved for their attention to detail and hard work!

Thanks for the feedback - the lists you see there are FAR from final, though - we're just getting warmed up! So you'll see more Slants, recommendations, info, easter eggs, etc as time goes by. Section editors are really just getting underway with these so the best is yet to come!
The binder is a great idea but you should check in every so often to see if a section has changed (they're dated at the bottom left). For example, you don't have a Super Famicom list... but one will be going online before the weekend!
Again, thanks for the feedback, I'll pass this thread along to the gang working on these new sections.

Another question that seems appropriate to this thread... While I love the lists and everything, is it really true that most lynx and game gear collectors/gamers kept their boxes? I ask because that header is included in every one of the optional/advance listings.
For the most part it makes sense, especially for the CD/DVD/LD based systems. I for one rarely even look at sega cd or psx games loose or in a plain jewel case. But I was curious about the lynx and game gear simply because when I've seen them, they have been loose more often that boxed.
Other than that minor note, keep up the good work!

I rarely ever see these "loose", maybe because they're too easy to lose that way! Also it makes more sense for collectors of the post-NES era to keep their boxes. By that time it was evident that they'd be worth much more (before that few people probably thought they'd be worth ANYTHING) that way. As such, we're basing most of our price-guide stuff on complete vs. "loose" items.

Fair enough. :)
Maybe it's just a local thing, but I've only seen a few boxed game gear games in the local stores. Same with game boy.
How much would your recommend deducting value wise for a loose game then... 50% ?

We haven't started with the pricing on the Game Gear stuff yet, and really you shouldn't use our prices as any kind of gospel - it's meant just to be a guideline. Personally (this is not the opinion of the whole staff) a box is only worth more than a dollar or two if the game itself is rare, in which case I use add half the rarity value * 10% to the "loose" price. Probably seems a bit specific for a rule of thumb but it works for me.
PS I personally wouldn't even buy a loose Lynx game!
