So, who all has played (and is playing) Killzone for the PS2?

I can't comment on the "Halo-Killer" comments, namely since I've only played Halo once, but I can say that Killzone is freakin' hard. Part of it is simply playing a FPS with a controller I'm sure -- I couldn't hit anybody or anything. The AI seemed to be pretty good as my enemies had no problem sneaking up behind me and shooting me in the booty. One thing I can attest to is there are a lot of ways to die in Killzone, all of which I seem to be finding.

Anyone else playing this? Is it worth it to me to learn the control system?

I haven't played the game, but I've heard it's hard to snipe enemies due to slowdown and/or the "dead zone" (I think that's the correct term) in the PS2 analog control.

Ive played the demo and I will agree that its a very difficult FPS. Part of its problem is that its pushing the PS2 so hard that the reaction and slowdown does show up some.

However in a Story based RPG like Halo or Killzone, one thats hard keeps you playing longer. A hard AI is a good think.

I got Killzone for xmas and it was the first xmas game I played and beat. I was also a Killzone online beta tester so I had a pretty good feel for the game via the dual sticks prior to owning the full version.

As an old mouse and keyboard FPS player I fealt a little awkward at first playing a console FPS with the daul sticks but it was fairly easy to learn and become proficient with in very little time.

I mostly played thru the game as Luger and Hakha who seem to have better weapon accuracy, especially Luger and her main weapon. Also the ISA assault rifle seems to have more "kick" and "bounce" than the Helghast assault rifle making it less accurate.

It's a good game, I really liked the look and feel of the war torn urban areas. The final space station level gave me a bit of grief but i made it thru.
