View Full Version : What's the last game you FINISHED?

When I say "finished", I mean "finished successfully by reaching the end of the game". So losing your last life on the 99th stage of Missile Command doesn't count, but getting the chalice into the gold castle in Adventure does (though that's really not much of a feat, is it)?

I'm just as curious about the games people are finishing these days as I am about the feat of finishing any game at all.

So... go.

Funnily enough I was testing my new 7800 last night and I played a quick game of Adventure to test a 2600 cart (and of course didn't stop until I had the chalice in it's proper home) :)

My most recent true finishes though would be Super Mario Sunshine and Halo. I'm almost finished Eternal Darkness but I haven't played in awhile.

ummm.. Good question! :hmm:

oh I remember. I finished Super Metroid on the SNES 2 weeks ago "in preperation" for Metroid Fusion on the GBA. I didn't remember a thing about the game, so it took me quite a while to play through it.

Eventually thought I stopped playing Metroid Fusion (I'd rather wait and play it on the tv w/ that super Gameboy for the GC). Right now I'm 20% into Metroid Prime and expect to finish that next.. which should take me about 2 months at this rate :)

either GTA: Vice City (storyline wise, not 100%) or Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance.

Before that it was Mario RPG

Gonna finish Fusion next.

I've beaten it before, but most recently, Super Mario Advanced. I also went around a beat Chrono Cross again. Damn I love the music!

Wow, what a question....

The last game I beat was Luigi's Mansion. Before that was Gauntlet Dark Legacy, Conker's Bad Fur Day and Banjo Tooie. A lot of the other games I've attempted just fell short of fun and there was no drive to beat them.

Lately I have a lot of " works in progress " that I am near completing. I can't remember which was first but the last 3 I have completed are Super Monkey Ball , Virtua Tennis and Chrono Trigger.

I anticipate the next completed game will be Kingdom Hearts in the not so distant future.

Mine would be the original Phantasy Star on SMS. I took a short break from PSO and decided to try the PS. Took me quite a while to finish. Oddly Dark Falz on PSO was *much* easier to defeat than on PS.

Metroid Fusion. I'm playing through it again, though. A Metroid just isn't over until you see Samus in her swimsuit.

When I read this post I tried to remember but I couldn't... it had been years. So last weekend I finished FF: Mystic Quest.

Now I know why I never finish games! It took me a total of 13 hours to finish, but I started a month ago and since then this is pretty much the only game I've played. So with only 13 hours per month of game time, a "normal" RPG would take forever. I suppose there are other games that can be finished besides RPGs, but I don't usually have the desire to.

Most games I "finish" just keep cycling through the levels after you've done them all (Jumpman Jr, HERO, NES Lode Runner....)

Sadly, mine was the original Resident Evil for Playstation about 6 years ago. O_O Well, I did finish the new PS2 Contra about a month ago, but it was on the easy level & I got no ending. :hmm:

I'm currently in the middle of the following games: Super Punch Out, Metroid for GC, Halo, Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Ico, Fatal Frame, Resident Evil for GameCube, Eternal Darkness & Silent Hill.

I'm sure there's more, but those are just the ones I've played in the last month and haven't totally lost interest in (State of Emergency comes to mind).

I have a severe problem with spending my $50 on a game and never finishing it. I just can't find the time. Of course, I'm really wanting to buy the new Resident Evil & Splinter Cell, but I know I won't play them enough to warrant my $50 purchase.

I also have made it a priority to get the strategy guides for games now. I used to detest them, but I don't have the time to spend an hour trying to figure out where a key is hidden anymore. I give it 10 minutes of wandering around & if I haven't moved forward in the game, I'm using the guide. Takes some of the sense of accomplishment away, but I have to cut corners somewhere for time's sake.

I'm dedicated to finishing Eternal Darkness. I played through a chapter last night & I won't stop until I'm finished! Super PunchOut for SNES gave me a good getaway this weekend as well. Damn Bruiser brothers...

I pretty much never beat games in the past, and I don't forsee that changing in the future. Anyhow, I do occasionally beat a game. The last one I did was Gun-Nac on NES about 4 years ago.

Haha, I just rebeat Castlevania:SOTN a few days ago. What a game!

What I'm really proud of though is that I finally finished Hydlide for the NES last week. I bought it with my birthday money as a kid years ago but could never find all the fairies. With the help of a FAQ I finally saved the princess :-D

Truly sad. That had to be one of the worst games I ever played. I remember buggering my grandmother that I wanted a game so she bought me Hylide for $16 (cheap back then, most titles were fiarly expensive) I tried it a few times and put it away. I'd rather cut the grass then play Hylide. :)

Anyhow -- the last game I finished was Links Awakening for the original Gameboy.

Halo was the last game I finished, about 8 months ago. At first, I didn't think it was as good as the hype made it sound. But a few levels into it, that damn game grabbed me by the dpad and didn't let go. It was as impressive as it was surprising to me that I enjoyed it that much. Currently I'm in the middle of Sly Cooper, Earthbound, and Metroid Prime (Can't wait for the just announced sequel to Metroid).

I've already posted in this thread, but I've beat a few (small games) since then. Last one was Airlock (2600). What a terrible game. I just couldn't let a game that bad bring me down.

Last 3 I beat.

Team play mode in King of the Fighters 99 for Playstation.

Evil Zone for Playstation, the 1P battle mode (VERY time consuming, btw) which you need to do to unlock the characters voices and also different 'narrators.' I used Keiya. It sucks having to fight 50 battles (each character five times) and use all of your moves/specials at least once to win a battle just to unlock everything for one damn character.

Street Fighter 2 CE for Genesis, started with Ryu and finished with Sagat, level 3 or 4 in the CE mode.

FAILURE IS MY MIDDLE NAME

Last game I tried to beat but failed to finish.......btw, everyone else should post their own, we don't need to use a separate topic, let's keep it right here. I failed to beat Deadly Moves for the Genesis last week. Before that, I failed at Jurassic Park, also on the Genesis (Grant mode).
