So I picked up a pretty ratty copy of Super Dodgeball at the flea market this week and of course had to clean the hell out of it, but for some reason it still won't work. I got it working around 3 times after I cleaned it, but now it seems to just be giving me the same old purple sceen deal, even on my top loader. My question is why would it work then, but all of a sudden give up working on me now? Anybody think maybe that the alcohol I used destroyed it?

Do you have a Game Genie? Try running it through the Game Genie, that might get it to work.

No. Unless you're using some weird sort of toxic alcohol instead of rubbing alcohol. 8-)

But you might try cleaning your console; if the cart was still dirty the first few times you tried it, you might have gummed up the console port in the process.

Opps, guess I souldn't have used that old bottle of wild turkey I had lying around. LOL Anyways, to get back on track, I high doubt it is the console itself because all my other games still boot up fine every time. It's Just Dodgeball that has the probelm.

maybe it got damaged by static electricity, who knows.

Best way to know, is to try it also on a famiclone, those things make some dead carts spring back to life, while the majority of the time just nothing happnes.

I don't have a convertor, Though I guess I could always pick one up. Thanks for the help guys.

I have a spare converter for trade. However, I would highly suggest further cleaning your NES and the cart in question before going for any other options. If you're still interested shoot me a trade list.

The game and system couldn't get much cleaner. However, the cart does make a little noise when you shake it, could that also be a problem? You know, like maybe a peice of the board fell off?

Just crack it open (not literally) and take a look at it to see if something has come loose if it is ratteling on the inside!!! If something is, secure it somehow.
If not, I have not a clue what's wrong dude :/

Well I just got one of those 3.8 bits in the mail today and tried using an eraser on the open cart, but it was a no go unfortunally. :( What the hell is the matter with this game? It was working alright when I first got it.

Just for the hell of it, thoroughly clean your systems too just so we can completely get that out of the picture.

I just bought a cleaning kit off of 8bitnes, so hopefully that will help. In other news, I finally got some other thought to be dead games working again. What makes this all the more sweeter was the fact that one of them was Clash at Demonhead. :D
