Greetings Programs.

Didn't want to trash these until I found out if anybody needed any. I have about a dozen sealed boxes of old single sided double density 5 1/4 inch floppy disks. 10 disks per box. A few that were open show the disks in great shape after 20 years :)

I was using these for an Atari 8 bit computer with a happy drive 1050. And an IBM PC/jr. Should work with any 80's floppy drive.

Remember when these sold for $21.99 for a box? :)

I also have a few dozen 5 1/2 high density disks that are sealed in single disk packs.

Even a few quad density 96 tpi disks left if any of you have a DEC Rainbow.

PM if interested. The boxes can go media mail. Single disks should be about a buck to ship.

end of line.

Back in 1985 the first box of 10 floppy disks cost me $19.99 at a Clover store.

Strangely, a package arrived at my work a month later with an unknown persons name on it. It was from a floppy disk company. When my bos opened it we found it was a disk notcher to make single sided floppied work double sided. My boss said I could have it. I thought I hit paydirt because I could double the disks I had. Over the years they came down to about 18 or 15 cents a disk in bulk.

on eBay now they go for about a buck for 50 with 5 dollars shipping.

Sad...

I can remember when a buck a disk was a good deal. Usually boxes of 10 were $12 or so, if you could find a box of 10 for $10 you would snag it. Later I remember finding bulk deals, like ordering a hundred for $65 but without paper sleeves, and my and my friends would cut our own out of notebook paper and make them.

1986 and 1987, my parents ran a computer store and I remember my parents would buy ten packs of diskettes bulk for $5 and would sell them for $7.50 blank, or loaded with PD Software for $10.
