For the last two years we've added unique content to the internet with our series of weekly feature columns. With scads of talented writers who also happen to be serious gamers, I think we're contributing something that very few media sources can boast: weekly original columns for gamers, by gamers, free of charge or advertisement.

Well we're going to be kicking that up a notch this year. In addition to the fine stable of weekly features we're adding daily features for forum visitors.

Every Monday, Flack's MAME Club presents a new arcade classic, often games you wouldn't have known about.

Every Tuesday, Captain Yashiro's Grudge Match will feature two games going head to head in a battle that only YOU can resolve.

On Wednesdays, Random Game O' the (Wednes)Day returns, where I'll pick out a single title from out database of 33,000+, share some details and open it up for discussion.

Every Thursday we'll get a Sleeper of the Week pick from Maxlords. Hey, it's a little like MAME Club but for consoles, guaranteed to have you hunting down some unknown titles before long.

On Friday: Caption THIS! becomes a scheduled event. When I started this way back when it was on Fridays, though others have added to the mix.

Every Saturday, Lady Jaye and I will share a History Nugget with you. Here, we carve out a gaming event and explore not only the event but it's impact. Where were you when... ?

Finally, on Sunday, the DP Feature Column that you've come to know and love :) Two new columns join the line-up in 2005: Renowned author and columnist Leonard Herman heads up "The Game Scholar", where he'll share a set of past CES materials with us and add some history and lore to the gallery; Scott Stilphen's Interview feature continues in his grand tradition of hunting down videogaming's legends and icons, strapping them to a chair, shining a hot light on them and sweating them for the details of their career and their experiences in the industry.

Thanks to the entire 2005 team and to everyone spending the year with us... enjoy!

Is there some way that I could submit a picture for possible use on that? i haven't posted it in Off Topic because it's a pic from a game...

Anyways, I look forward to being a part of all of these new things. Thank you so much, all of Digital Press!!

I can't wait for this little series of tidbits to return. It was one of the easiest ways to learn about games that I've never played or heard of. Keep up the awesome work DP!

On the one hand this seems awfully cool, but on the other, I'm thinking you guys (you, Joe, in particular) are practically begging to get burned out and bitter about the whole site, once the novelty wears off and you're still obligated to push out something new with such frequency.

It just seems like a burden for something that's a hobby, not a salaried job.

But hell, if you guys are willing and eager to do it, I'm more than willing and eager to reap the benefits and enjoy it.

Thirteen years and counting, Steve! I haven't burnt out yet (though I've been known to take a hiatus every now and then). Everyone else pitches in because they enjoy it, but if they stop enjoying it they know they can simply "walk". It's been a pretty good policy all these years.

hehe awesome looking forwards to this little lot :D

I've been pondering a 'King of the Crap' (like to opposite of Cream of the Crop) where you can pit the worst games against each other in a sorta spoof review type playtest :)
