Not on their site, at least. I can almost guarantee you can hit up a local store and get one. They should have arrived in store today.

Well yeah I am sure they will have some, but they will be gone really soon.

There were a total of 48,000 collectors editions made.

Gamestop is still selling them on ebay though. Seems strange to me that such a large company would waste time running auction on ebay.

I can verify they are going quick, because my g/f went out this afternoon to pick one up for me (I didn't have a pre-order) and they only had a couple left. So if you guys want one, I'd act fast!

I was at Gamestop today and they had a bunch of them. Try looking in the stores rather than online.

Soundtrack? Is it in the actual case? I opened mine up and I didn't see any such thing, just the cell and the backstory book. #14772, or something close to that.

is this an actual artbook or some dinky 10 page pamphlet?

It is a book containing the history of Resident Evil, very cool. I say if you have the chance, pick this up before they are all gone.

I'll have to head back tomorrow. I didn't pay in full though so that might be it.

I went to Gamestop today to pick up Monopoly (NES) for $3. I walked out with Monopoly and RE4 Special Edition for $63. It's funny how someone who just quit his job is spending money like crazy. @_@
But anyway, it was well worth it. The mini history book is cool, especially since I didn't play all of the previous games in the series. The laser cel is really cool, and even more so now that I know this is a limited thing. And finally after playing close to 5 hours today of the game, I can honestly say THIS is how the RE series should be remembered. This game is fantastic. A huge thumbs up to Capcom for finally getting it right.

Question. Is 48,000 copies REALLY that limited?

Considering the game will likely sell well over a million copies, it's not too large of a number. I got 12677, heh.

Och, that sucks... my EB didn't get any... we just got dinky making-of DVDs to hand out... strange that they didn't put it on a GC mini-disc...
That's a funny announcement. I just saw a row of 6 RE4 SE copies at my local Gamestop. I asked if they were spoken for. They weren't and my friend went and picked one up. Sold out already? Ha! Anybody want one? $100 bucks! Ha ha.

I guess I'd better pick up my reserve tomorrow then. Then again, I probably don't have much to worry about, since I don't think the Cube is that "cool" around here anyway...

Yeah, 48,000 isnt that much, especially when 95% of them are all sold out all ready

Still seems like a VERY high number for a limited edition. I can't imagine it holding value for a long time.

No its not very much, considering that the Halo 2 Special Edition was still on shelves about a month after its release

In terms of super popular games, yes that's rather limited. Considering how popular the series is, I can see the L.E. commanding decent enough money years from now. Just look at Castlevania Chronicles: 20K copies and prices are over original retail by now. That said, it's hard to gauge becuase there's also a regular version of the game. Will 48K people still want to hang onto the L.E. when they think they can get money for it? I would say this isn't really abusing the L.E. concept, especially not by the standards of Halo 2 and DVD box sets :P
