Hi All,

I bought a super nintendo with a few games from a lady who worked at Nintendo. There was one game (mortal Kombat II) that was a demo. This was made for the staff at Nintendo to view the game before it was marketed. On the front edge it states "Not for Resale - Demo Only". On the face of the game it has the standard mortal kombat sticker but with "not for relsale" in red letter with a white back ground. :hmm: Just wondering what you think about this game.

I'd love to post a picture but don't know how. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!

Neil

I am pretty sure that these games "not for re-sale" are just the copies that are sent out to the stores for use in there machines for demos. Thats all the normally go on ebay for 6.99-15.99 depending on the game.

They are still very nice to have in your collection, If you do decide to trade it and butta doesn't have what you want then let me know and maybe we can work something out.

Yes, they are not worth a boatload. There are also a fairly large amount of them. I have a contra 3 demo, tetris attack demo. I know that a turtles 4 demo exsists and i would give anything for it. There are also street fighter 2 demos and ken griffey jr's winning run demos.

there's a ton of other snes games that had demo versions to. in the prototype section a while ago i think a lot of them were mentioned, and niels said he has a list.

I heard there was a difference between the rom chips on the circuit board in the game. EPROM chip and socket (DIP package), flash chip, or Regular ROM. Does anyone know about this? If so how do you tell what's what? Please let me know.

To those of you who offered to trade for it or buy it: I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it at this point. I haven't made any trades with anyone in this group yet and am a little apprehensive about the whole thing. Is there a good traders list within the group?

It is right that it is probably a store demo, I have one of Wario Land for the Virtual Boy, and also the store demo stand which is much much better then the one that comes with the virtual boy. Problem is when mounted on the stand you cannot change the game without detaching it.

Oh well, its nice to have.

I also have people on the board who can vouch for me, as well as great e-bay feedback. user name: collectables2u if you want to check it.

(butta still has first dibs though)
