I finally got a chance to pick one of these babies up...haven't gotten a chance to play it yet. I got it for $20 since I had a $20 Best Buy gift card and used $20 of my own cash. I was really surprised about how tiny it was...I guess I shouldn't have been, but still. LOL

So anyway, I have a question about it. I remember there was some talk when this product was announced about whether one could hack it to accept cartridges. Not that I intend to hack mine up, but I'm curious...was it ever discovered if this was possible?

Thanks!

I doubt it can be hacked.

Unlike the Commodore 64 Dtv which has a "commodore 64" on a chip. The Atari Flashback has an "Nes" on a chip and then the games are emulated. The designers did this because they were only allowed 10 weeks to make this unit and that didn't give them time to build an "Atari 2600" on a chip.

So to answer your question. No I don't think it will ever be hacked to accept carts.

They are a bit small I remember opening the box and saying Thats it.
Maybe we can hack them to play NES games.

That's odd....I didn't think the NES had the power to emulate the 7800...aren't they between 1 and 3mhz processors?

that's the point, it's *not* emulating it, all the games were 'ported' to play on the nes-ish platform
