something crazy is going on with xbox's, bearing in mind theyve been around a while, the crytal xbox's are advertised everywhere at £99 and have been common place..
but for the past x weeks, you cannot get a new xbox for love nor money, second hand ones sell for more than new, even broken xboxes, with no controllers or games or anything are selling for £70+£10 post on eBay..
someone explain please ???

I coudn't tell you for sure, but I've noticed a whole lot of people picking new Xbox's like crazy here in Canada the last month or so as if they were made of gold. I'll assume it's the Halo 2 craze.

Xbox supplies have been low in the UK since the start of December. The PS2 supplies were running out before then. Both M$ and Sony under supplied the UK with stock in the run up to Xmas, and it hasn't corrected itself since yet.

Speaking to a friend who owns a game shop, it also seems that the XBox was the preferred alternative to the PS2 once they ran out - he said that just before Xmas when parents were getting desperate he sold maybe 5 XBoxes for every 1 Cube to would-be Sony customers.
