Is there a section or link here or anywhere on the web that has a brief synopsis or summary of all games?

I took a look at the master list here, but it does not include a synopsis.

Any help?

Thanks
Sigfrido

Of "all" games? Errr... do you mean for a certain system, or do you mean ALL GAMES? There are lists with summaries for certain systems all over the place, but if you wish a list for every game for every system throughout history, the only list I know of is called "The Entire Internet." LOL

P.S. QuickKick was one of my favorite Joes.
P.S.S. I always wanted a Joe whose specialty was propoganda, misinformation, and "dirty tricks." Codenamed "Muckraker."

I think he means if he were to type in a title into a database search it would return the summary/review/description of that specific game. This would be similar to using the DP database to find rarity.

We have lots of descriptions too, but we'll be working on the database for the rest of our natural lives fililng those in. So will our children and grandchildren, most likely :)

How about ign.com? Seems like a pretty good all around source for game info.

I know that's going to require a huge database not to mention the manpower to update it.

I was really wondering about the main stream systems that had somewhat long lifetimes, such as the Atari 2600, NES, SNES, SEGA through the latest systems.

IGN does have a lot of that, but they don't have it all.

Yes but the amount of games don't necessarily increase faster than descriptions are written.

For example, if we got "caught up", it would just be a matter of having people assigned to each system's new games to "keep up" from there forward.

With a database of 34,000 games we still have a long way just to get to the "caught up" point, but we're a persistent bunch :)

It would take forever to do it "right". With a write up on each one, give sales info and stats. Cross sections of what people think about it. Walk throughs, FAQs, easter eggs, codes, tricks, story line....oh man, I'm kinda glad ya'll don't have "everything". The work would be hell.

I don't envy you.

This is just a question, it's not intended to sound pessimistic...

How many people here are working on it?

It's hard task to catch up, but it would be relatively easier to keep it up.

There are about 45 section editors at this time but it's not like everyone is simultaneously chugging through descriptions.

Especially true when you consider we've been at it since 1991.

I know you can play them, but say you're shopping online and you come across a game that say... Maniac Mansion or Mafat Consipiracy and you never heard of them. I would like to have some sort of inkling as to what it's about or how it's played and what style of game it is.

Example: Operation WOLF's cover art looks like an 3rd person adventure game to me, but it's a shooter game.
