Hey everyone,

Just picked up Atari’s BMX Airmaster for $76.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8160100093&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT

If this is the cart I think it is then it’s my first R10 !!! Yeah !!!. I really love how this game is one of the last released by Atari (in 1990 !!) and never saw full production.

Anyway, do you guys think I got a good deal ?? the guide says $350 loose. Does anyone out there know anything else about this cart ???

Thanks

I would pay $350 for an NTSC version! I would pay more than that honestly. :D

But what you bought was a PAL version, it came from overseas where it is not nearly as rare. It's still a very hard game to find in PAL format, but it's on ebay almost every 2-3 months as a PAL probably closer to an R7 The only problem with owning a PAL copy is that it will likely roll on your tv set, unless of course you are from a PAL country with a pal tv.

How do you know that it's a PAL version ??? Hmmmm.... the seller siad it works fine so I assumed it was NTSC. Oh well, it's still a neat cart to own being one of the last carts ever made!! :-P. I will try it ASAP to see if i get the PAL flicker.

Becuase he bought it from foxbatslayer that dude that wrote the midnight tiger. It came from the UK. It was a PAL cart, that most likely works, but will likely roll on the screen in the US. He paid around the same for it when he bought, so you can likely resell down the road if you lose interest in it. It's a hard to find PAL cart as well, but the R10 goes to NTSC only, where it is a biatch to find. Believe me it would have gone for over $500 if it were NTSC, or you would have been bidding more than that to outbid me.

Hmmmmm, I have never seen either of the carts, but I don't know why this would be the PAL version. The seller is from Canada, so it should be NTSC.

This should be interesting !! If it’s NTSC - yeah for me. :D If it’s PAL - negative feedback for the seller  . At least that’s how I feel….. I mean a PAL game should clearly be stated especially if you are selling it in a NTSC area. I guess I’ll claim it doesn’t work if it’s PAL. Although I guess it does work but I have to go to Europe to play it properly…. Or get neck cramps from playing it on an NTSC machine. LOL but still

Oh well, if it’s PAL I will probably sell it as I really wanted and R10

The seller purchased it himself from the UK only a couple months ago. Now where the seller in the UK got it is anyone's guess. But the seller Mr.Faxanadu bought from was selling lots of pal games, an none of his auctions mentioned that tidbit of info. Just that they are tested & working.

If you get an older TV, or even like a Commodore 1702 you can play most pal games with little trouble. But all the pal games I own roll on newer tvs around my house. :(

Heck, I'd give bad feedback for not mention what format the games are in. You sell on the main EBay site, YOU MUST SAY THAT!

I asked- that was a PAL title. You have to ask these days. I've been screwed and neg'd people for it, but it was still my fault for taking 'I don't know' or no reply as 'NTSC.'

And in AUS, I would consider the Atari version of BMX Airmaster a 6 at worst in rarity, probably a 5. They find ALOT of those out there. Ikari Warriors PAL is harder to find.
