There's a wrapped copy over at the used bookstore by my work.
(It's not the one with the game.)
Since I can't flip through the pages, I thought I'd ask for some opinions on it's contents.

Is it informative, or mostly a picture book?
Does it just cover arcades?

Thanks for your time....

An old review, but it was new when the book was new:

How much are they asking for it? I'm sure it's pretty hard to find in new condition.

The book is entertaining, and yes, arcade games is the major focus. Consoles get little coverage relative to arcade games, but what is there is good, w/ lots of shots of boxes. The art style emulates "Joystik" magazine, with screen shots blown up to pixel view. Some are put off by this, but I like it.

I would definitely recommend it even if you're only mildly interested in classic arcade games. I'm a little biased since the author is from the same area as me and spent a lot of time at "Bally's Great Escape" on Haddonfield road in Cherry Hill.

Thanks for the info.
Okay, I guess I'll go buy it tomorrow! It sounds great. They're asking $20.

Thanks also for the mention of Joystik - I like the zoom pixel look, too, and that made the decision for me.
I'll let you know what I think.

$20 is a great price, IMHO.

Really, if you remember the golden age, this book is essential. For a coffee table book it has useful info and if you don't feel like reading, there's tons of beatuiful pictures.

So, wasn't there supposed to be a follow up book?
