So on the way home from the dentist yesterday (one cavity is now waiting to be filled) I stopped at the CD/Game Exchange and picked up some Saturn games for $2.50 apiece (and a sealed One Piece Mansion for $5.00!). They were all common sports titles, and I grabbed them mainly because the boxes were undamaged (i.e., spare parts).

When I got home I glanced through the manuals, even though I didn't really have any intention of playing them. NFL Quarterback Club and Madden 97 were two of them, and DAMN, those playbooks are complicated! World Series Baseball and FIFA 98 were a good deal simpler.

Now, I've never been a sports fan, (aside from a casual interest in soccer), and the last sports game I really played was Atari 2600 RealSports Football. (Does Ballblazer count?) So I was wondering--do a lot of you play sports games? I don't really see much discussion of them here. I was wondering whether it's the people who are sports fans that like to play the sports games, or whether there's no connection between the two things. Hence, I submit my humble poll.

[Edited because my grammar are better when I drunk]

I watch the sports religiously...and then I play the games so I can actually find out what would happen if my team won something...

The only sport I can watch and enjoy is basketball, BUT i do love sports games :) NES Baseball Stars, NBA 2K3, Madden 2K3, Neo*Geo's Baseball Stars 2, and Kunio Dodgeball are all fun as all hell.

Honorable mention goes to Windjammers, a cool hybrid of Pong, Frisbee, and Hockey
