I am seriously annoyed again! I'm going to get shafted by the "Buyer Protection Policy"... again !

There should be some "Seller Protection Policy...!"

I sold a Sega Megadrive 6 button control pad on 4th January 2005, to a buyer in the US, she paid 4th January, I shipped it out 4th January.

She emails me about 5 days later, complaining that it hasnt arrived yet.. I tell her not to worry, it takes a while for stuff to come from the UK to the USA.. yet she emails a couple more times.

I reply, and my emails get bounced - her AOL email address doesnt exist any more !

She's filed a Buyer Complaint through Paypal !

She said the item hasnt arrived (shes not given it enough time) and also that I have CHEATED her.. she said it said 7.00 and she got charged $13.80...

WELL.. she doesnt even realise im in the UK it seems.. and that the auction was in POUNDS STERLING.. and when you pay for this.. it gets converted into US Dollars.. and thats why its $13.80

I PHONED paypal an hour ago and explained to the guy.. all he could suggest was to "sit tight until the process is over" - are you kidding I said.. this is stupid! - He suggested that "she may get the item in the meantime and cancel the complaint"

YEAH RIGHT, if she thinks I "conned" her, shes not going to cancel it... she could just get the item and leave it.. and Paypal will give her a refund out of my account...

Also, you can provide proof of posting.. but PAYPAL only accept ONLINE TRACKING.. so if I take a picture of the UK POSTAL SERVICE Certificate of Posting.. they wont accept it as proof... and why on earth would you pay £5 EXTRA to have tracking online for a £7 inc. shipping item ???????

Also it occurs to me that sending ANYTHING non-online trackable.. e.g. a £50 game.. anyone could say they didnt get it.. and file a chargeback with Paypal......

This situation STINKS.. it doesnt matter if you pay them £10 or £1000 a month they dont really care..

I just wish someone off the board could possibly ring this moronic woman.. and explain everything to her... I can just imagine the reply to the email I just sent..... and Im dreading the two negatives I could get...

YES....... she also bought ANOTHER pad........ but hasnt paid for that one.....

SIGH

get ahold of 'em through their feedback page and click contact seller. Try using a different address if that doesn't worked because she may have blocked your email. That's all I could think of at the moment.

Well her email address which was listed on the buyer complaint was @msn.com compared to the AOL one..

So I've emailed her on that email address..

Like I say.. IF she replies... I can only imagine a response such as "ME TARZAN"

I tried using my University email address instead of hotmail to contact.. but the AOL box doesnt exist..

:(

As far as I knew it was against eBay rules to not have a current and valid email address on record. Contact eBay and file a complaint against her.

Unfortunately, that is true.. you have to rely on both the integrity and intelligence of your buyer...

Considering this person waited less than 10 days before freaking out on an international transaction.. I would say you don't have much hope. :|

I have done that sooo many times.. and the end result each time has been zilch...

On a daily basis, I get about 7-10 non-deliverable messages on 35-50 sent (shipping notices)... about half of those are "not accepting messages from my domain" and the rest are "mailbox doesn't exist". I stopped bothering to report them long ago because it is just too time consuming.. I'll just wait for them to leave their stupid feedback - "Item received quickly but no communication..." LOL

yea use to happen to me all the time. Now i require tracking on all the items i sell, that way if they send a paypal cliaim against you, you pop in the tracking number, and they wont get a refund.

The sad part is that she WILL get her money back. The only thing stopping buyers from getting their money back on every auction is that paypal only does one refund for a person per year I believe (maybe 2).
