The internal battery in my Saturn is dead, and whenever I replace it, it still does not work. Therefore, I recently bought a 4-in-1 adaptor, shown here:

My question is a follows. Will I be able to save my system data (ie language and time) on to the card? Also, do I need to fill up the internal memory first before I can start saving on it?
Also, can someone tell me what the quality of the 4-in-1 I purchased is?
Thank you!

sorry to tell u the bad news, but 4 in 1s dont support direct save ( saving directly to the cart) , you have to save from the systems backup memory, then to the cart... and since ur saturns backup battery is shot... the only option to save directly to a cart is using the official backup carts (there the only ones that support direct save)
Mine is up on ebay right now , and im a sucker for trades :D

You are screwed on the time language.. got to have to battery working or it will ask every time.
also:
That is a link to an official Saturn memory cart. It will not let you play imports or do anything but hold game data lwithout a battery.
You need to get a 5 in 1 cart that has memory for certain games and lets you play imports. Also make sure if you buy one from avendor who allows returns at the 3rd party 4 in 1 and 5 in 1 *ebay talk* are items that come DOA untested from the factory. I'm lucky that my DOA 5 in 1 came from a DP friend not some Ebay looser.
To play backups you need a chip and be warned that there is only one version of the Saturn that can be chipped, the 32 pin IC chip System 2.
EDIT:
opps clicked wrong link ^.^

Would I be able to save to the system memory, press the reset button (so direct power never leaves the system), and then save to the 4-in-1?

I have a four in one cart that supports direct saves, it doesn't seem to work anymore (I think something may have gone boom) which is unfortunate...
