ok, after reading the revolution thread, and arranging my ideas (it's tough) i've started wondering, if the matrix online, were to be released, would you still play it?

Frankly i avoid games based on movie licences, but the online part of this one would be cool, but i'm sure that they will blow it up somehow.

What are your thought on it? seeing that a good lapse of time has already past since the announcement was made

EDIT: after rearrenging ideas and looking at it again, the question would be, would you buy it?

with the last movie so bad some Matrix fans refuse to watch it at all..

It's boned.. no way as the fan base died with the sequals.. It would have to be an amazing MMO on it's own and I don't see that happening.

Yep seriously. The sequels were just so HORRIBLY BAD that it almost ruined the first one for me. To me the sequels don't exist.

I had the beta test. Read, HAD. It sucked, plain and simple. Unless some massive changes went on from the Beta 4 months ago, I don't plan on getting it.

a) It's based on a movie license, and a crappy movie license at that.

b) It's an MMOG, and like most other MMOGs it will probably be interesting for 3-6 months (maybe up to a year, but no longer) and then the CD will become a coaster, with all that money down the drain.

So no, I won't be getting it. Buena Vista / Monolith did amazing things with TRON, but I doubt Matrix will turn out quite that well. The multiplayer aspect of just about all their games has been nonexistant or poorly-developed. They do the signle-player well, but beyond that...
