The streets in Silent Hill were named after horror authors.

The Playstation was orginally developed as a cd-rom add-on to the Super Nintendo.

In the arcade version of Punch-Out, Donkey Kong and Mario can be seen sitting in the audience. (They're also in Super Punch-Out as well.)

In Final Fantasy VII's snowboarding mini-game, you can make Cloud do a backflip near the end of the track.

If you beat Banjo-Kazooie with all the jiggies, you're given a special ending in which Mumbo shows you secret areas which would supposedly be reachable once the sequel was released. The original plan was to play Banjo-Tooie until you reach a certain point, then "swap" Banjo-Kazooie in to open the secret areas, then go back into Tooie and continue on with the egg that you would have found. Unfortunately, this plan was eventually dropped, but you can still access the revealed secret areas along with a few others with a Gameshark or by using codes in Treasure Trove Cove.

The first person to die while playing a video game was playing the arcade version of Berserk. He was in an arcade called Friar Tuck's in Calumet City, IL, located right next to my own town. It's still in business.

Here's another one: Once the early arcade Pong broke down because it was so full of quarters.

Another:The early arcade Pong used an old milk carton to hold all the quarters.

And Pong made alot of money,so when the guys went to get the quarters, they had a huge sack. They wanted to protect their money, but they couldn't get a gun so they just took a hammer around with them. :D x_x :-D

Hard to imagine Pong being so popular...especially since there were probably a few pinball machines sitting right next to them!

Guilty Gear was originally going to be a 3-D fighting game, but the designers decided that the title's graphics couldn't compete with those of Bushido Blade or Tekken 3, so they turned it into a 2-D fighter. And a darned good one, at that.

yet another useless trivia: Pong is not the first arcade game to be made. Pong was often mistaken as the first because it was more well known and pretty much started the evolution for arcade and video games.

The real first one predates Pong by a few years.

@ Impmon - So what is the first arcade game? Don't leave us hanging!!!

Really useless trivia - I have a copy of SMB3 that was once owned by a boy named billy. He wrote his name on it with a marker.

Mario's Birthday is October 10th.

So is mine!

SEGUE!!!

Useless trivia about myself: Both my names start with the letter J. J is the tenth letter or the alphabet. I was born on the tenth day of the tenth month in a year that is a multiple of ten. My grandmother and I are born on the same day, several decades apart. My mom was born on the eleventh day of the eleventh month. *cue spooky music*

Useless trivia about videogames: Naughty Dog put easter eggs in several of their their computer games that let you see the horrorshow grodies of (poorly drawn) women prior to making it big with Tomb Raider.

What makes him stupid, exactly? Or are you just in awe of him in general?

Anyway, he's perfectly correct. See 1971:
