Well, Its the 17th, is Zoo Keeper DS out now? [Archive]

Hey

I've read in many different places Zoo Keeper DS is set for a release date of January 17th. Well its now the 17th, can anyone confirm if its out yet? Obviously, being in the UK i cannot check. Sorry to be a bother but i need this game!

I had a date of the 18th, though Ignition's web site still has the 17th. Since Monday is a federal holiday in the US, I would be very surprised if it hit any stores before Tuesday. Unfortunaltey, I've also come across a mid March date, though I don't know where that info came from.

Actually, I said Ignition, which is the publisher, still has it as the January 17th, so they would be the "source". As for Nintendo's list, after pouring over 2000+ titles to compile the GB/GBC/GBA/DS lists contained on this web site, I can assure you MANY of their dates are incorrect, some games that came out are not listed and some that did not come out in the US are.

If the March release that you saw was March 1, ignore it--EBGames used March 1 as a placeholder date for all DS games for a while before the actuall dates were released.

Because shipping companies will most likely not be running today nor tomorrow, expect not to see the game available until Wednesday.

Nope, it wasn't EB. Both EB and Gamestop still have it listed as scheduled to ship on the 17th and 18th and neither have changed yet. Since I've been a retailer for over 14 years, I still receive pre-order forms from a number of wholesalers and one of them changed it from 1/17 to 3/18 late last week. As of now, I'm writing it off as a typo but anythings possible.

If you had any idea what goes in to maintaining a database of over 2000 titles for nothing other then personal satisfaction, you would understand my reaction. Let me know when you come close to donating a tenth of the man hours I have put into both this hobby and industry and tell me if some jack ass that doesn't bother to read a thread makes the same comment you did doesn't get to you.

Sorry, you said the source. There is a difference between the words "a" and "the". If you didn't realize that before, you do now. ;)

EBGames is now listing is as available "Usually Ships within 24 hrs."

Gamestop is still showing 1/19 as an ETA...but they're on central time so they haven't updated their site yet, I would guess.

Was in EB yesterday and apparently its out today. So yesterdays date was correct, it was just the ship date.

I called to check on my reservation today. Since I live in Hawaii and because of the holiday on Monday the store told me tommorrow is a good day to try and pick it up. Hows that for cryptic.

I third the ridiculous price. Toys R Us is $40 as well. I don't know what Ignition was thinking. At $30 it wasn't even a second thought, but there's no way in hell I'd drop $40 for it (let alone any DS game for that matter, but I'm a cheap SOB :) )

I picked it up for $34.99 at Gamerush. Pretty cool game. It is worth that much in my opinion, but maybe not everyone's cup of tea. :)

Just as good as the flash based and japanese gba versions I'd say. Pretty quick play with the stylus. Still comes off as a bejeweled clone to me. Of course I have only played it for like 15 minutes so I probably keep my opinion in check for like at least a couple more hours. :/ :/

Thanks for the gamerush heads up. I got it from the dude behind the counter and he was like: "What's this game about?" I sais "sorta like bejeweled" and he was like: "dude I got bejeweled on my cell that game rocks" :)

Its a good day for the DS drought to end. Next Month: Warioware.

It's in Sunday's (1/23) K-Mart ad for $29.99. If you don't want to deal with them, price matching at Toys R Us, Circuit City or Best Buy are usually a breeze as long as you have a copy of the ad with you.

I bought it today myself. I paid the $40 however. I didn't know about the K-Mart deal until now, but all the same, K-Mart is kind of far from me while Target is just around the corner literally. They had 3 copies in stock, so I don't know if this is because that is all they were sent or it has sold well. Anyway, great game! I like puzzlers like this, but my fiancee loves them even more. It is very addictive. A word of advice however, turn OFF the BGM if you would like to keep your sanity!

BTW: $40 isn't all that bad! For god sakes, I spent $50 for "Penguin Land" back in the day!
