I remember my brother LOVED this game to death. I watched him play it a lot. Cool game eh? I remember the opening scene the best. These two guards put him in the "dead bodies room" then you walk out and the guards run out screaming "Ghost!" or something.

A 3D Shadow Run might be nice....

I've never spent much time with the genesis version. Love the snes one though. They really need to remake the series.

Genesis one is about 10000 times better than the SNES one. The SNES one is a linear game with a HORRIBLE battle system. The Genesis version is one of the best games made. Ever. Seriously, if you haven't picked it up DO SO! It's a RPG/3rd person shooter overhead view hybrid, but labeling it doesn't do the game justice. The game has Sooooo many awesome features. First of all you can do jobs known as "runs" with certain NPCs in different towns. The guy in the first town, for example, has you doing delivery jobs and such and making pennies. When you get to the big cities the jobs will be breaking into buildings and stealing stuff from big corporations. Oh, did I mention that these jobs are all random, meaning you can keep doing them over and over again to build up money, but it doesn't ever get boring since the game rocks so hard. You can buy guns / armor/ magic / computer stuff / body implants at stores, and guns and comptuer stuff and such are upgradable, meaning you can buy RAM and processors and all kinds of stuff for your computers and silencers for your gun. Another huge part of the game is cyberspace. You can hack into cyberspace and attack comptuer systems, stealing valuable info which you can then sell for a high price (some of the info is useless though). I could go on and on, but suffice to say BUY THE GAME! (or play the ROM).

I adore the SNES one. A buddy and I 'wrote' a strategy guide for it back in the day. We sat and played through it over many a night. In my top 5 games ever, no doubt.

Shadowrun was a great RPG. Admittely, I'd never played the Genesis version, I've always played the SNES one. Perhaps my most fond memory of that game is the druid gun dealer:

"Yar har har! Let's set our beards on fire and shave little puppy dogs! Yar har!"

Can't say that i've played through the SNES one. I beat the Genesis one several times though! Awesome game...always a bit different, lots of variable missions, etc. Plus, hacking computers in it kicked all kinds of ass. The Genesis one is one of my all time favorite games.
