What's the dirtiest trick you ever played to win?

I never was too big on dirty tactics, but in 2 player Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers, if my "friends" did too many things before I did, I'd catch up to them, pick their character up, then throw him to his death.

A few others come to mind, like Joust, but then, it usually didn't start out being a war, but inevitably almost every game turned out that way.

my mate used to always beat me on streetfighter, so once when he went out the room I changed all his power levels to low.. he still beat me.. :(

One of my old roommates and I used to play cutthroat Jaguar XJ220 on my Sega CD. I never could get him to understand the concept that we were both driving on the same team, so it was in our best interest to cooperate with each other and not worry about which one of us was ahead of the other, as long as we were both ahead of the pack. But he just wouldn't have that. He was an absolutely ruthless racer, with no concept at all of what team racing is supposed to be about, so I had to become absolutely ruthless myself. So one time, on the very last lap of the race, just as he was about to cross the finish line a nose ahead of me, I swerved into him and knocked his ass of the track, ala Racer X! Take THAT, "team" buddy! HEHEHE

When SFII first came out we would play the game a 24/7 store until the sun would come up sometimes .We would even buy frozen pizza's and use the Employee breake room.

Anyway, around 3am it was common practice if you were on a loosing streak for a while to just start shoving or otherwise disrupt the guy next to you for the win.. Dirty but we were friends so there was just a bunch of trash talk and "cheap man.. so weak.." "Maybe if you didn't suck you wouldn't have lost.. and for the record.. Blanka sucks.."

The most hilarious tactic I have ever used was with donkey kong in SSB:M for the gamecube. I would use this on single player and multi. For whatever reason, donkey kong had some dumb move where he would grab an opponent and slam him onto his BACK and carry them. Well, after doing this move right at a ledge DK would take them to their doom....hilarious suicide jump.

I was playing Super Baseball 2020 with a friend.(Neo Geo MVS/Candy Cab)

I had two outs in the bottom of the ninth and he was winning by a run ..
.........(I had a runner on second & third)
I hit a pop up and he lined up his outfielder for the catch,....He was holding the joystick loosely as the ball came down knowing this was caught and he would win....I hit his arm right before the catch causing him to move his outfielder and the ball dropped. LOL
I ran my runner on third in and tied it up then got a hit and got another run to win.. :D
Whew,was he pissed... @_@
He usually beats me,so I just wanted to win for once..

The dirtiest trick I've pulled is distracting a girlfriend sexually while playing two player games. I have to say...definitely a FUN dirty trick! :D LOL

My fav was counter op on Battletoads (NES). You could pick up the other teammate, so on the first level there are these walking sticks that try to kick you. So Id pick up my friend and head over to a little spot were the stick would jump on to a ledge and then start kicking at you
Well since I hade my team mate held in the air it would kick him untill he was no longer alive.

Well this isnt really a dirty trick, its more a case of me acting like a 3 year old. But, whenever me and 3 friends play Mario Party (i swear to god the game is against me... constantly rolling stupidly low numbers.. landing on crappy things.. everything about it would annoy me) and eventually i would get so mad id just turn the gamecube off..

Another case of this is when i play 8 player Halo 2, if the other team get a really good start, i'll 'accidently' pull the link cable out..

Quite pathetic when i think about it really.. The lenghts iw ould go just to stop losing..

I used to drive my brother to his limits with Mario 1 on the NES. Here's how: make sure you play Mario (controller 1).

Juuuuust before Luigi (=my brother) is about to jump over some hole -in level 5 ofcourse ;)- press pause and presto change-o! The game pauses. When you press pause again Luigi will run right in the hole!

Nearly got me killed though, but it really is the filthiest of tricks!

I have one, when playing with a friend i always beat the crap outta him playing Double Dragon.
The second 2 player mode i think it was,you can hit each other as players and if you finish player 2's life you get an extra life,that way i could come further in the game closer to beating it. :evil:

Back when Top Spin first came out, there was a sleazy trick you could do to get the ball to hit the tape on the net and trickle down on your opponents side every time you returned his serve. It was almost impossible for him to return this shot too.

This cheat has been patched and fixed for a while now, but I admit I used it a couple times during some intense online games to get match point.

You can wiggle outta DKs suicide jump most of the time. My dirtiest trick involves SSM also. I float with kirby just past a ledge and wait for someone to get near the edge. I then start sucking and falling at the same time. As I fall past I suck them up and then fall right off the cliff killing us both. Its a great trick to finish up a game fast when you have more lives and can pull it off (we always play stock battles).

I also remember in Contra, the level where the waterfall and it all scrolls vertically. Man, me and my cousins would get pissed at whoever was at the top, because you'd just keep jumping and it would register as "falling" for the other player!

You do know that dropping out of a Halo 2 game automatically puts you in last place, right?

Snaking in F-Zero GX against people who don't know about it is always a nice, dirty way to win.
