are the cables/leads from a nes the same as a snes ??

been looking into buying a snes, and in a post on ebay someone said the cables are the same ?? is this correct ??
i have a nes and if they are the same all i need is the console itself and the controller - which is much cheaper on ebay !

thanks

Since you're in the UK, the answer is yes - PAL NES/SNES leads are interchangable.
I think the US versions have different power leads, though.

Depends on the adapter, I sell stateside NES/SNES adapters that have inputs for both the SNES and NES on the same adapter.

The NES and SNES require different plugs for their power supplys. The NES is a 9Volt and the SNES is a 10Volt. The plug heads are different sizes. You can buy a multi-use power supply as Sylentwulf described. Also, the AV cables are different as well, but the RF switch is fully compatible with both.
