I'm looking into buying a few older systems (3do, turboduo) and I'm noticing that finding one that looks nice (little to no scratches) is pretty difficult. I'm sure many of you have experienced the same thing, so I'm wondering if you guys have any tips or tricks to restore games and consoles (appearance wise) and then to protect them for the future.

For instance, in my car I use various cleaners and conditioners to keep the leather from cracking and from the plastic (mainly the dash) from getting faded by the sun. So I'm wondering if similar things exist for video games, or would using the vinyl/plastic cleaner/restoration spray from my car actually be best to use on a console?

Any experiences, ideas, tips, are appreciated.

Nate

Last night I decided to clean my Master Systems casing. Its just been sitting around( i have 0 games) and was pretty dusty.I thought it looked pretty scuffed up and faded, but apon closer inspection it appeared to have spider poop all over it, discoloring the casing. I used rubbing alcahol (dont overdue it) then used plastic polish/scratch remover on it. Now its a nice shiny black again :)

Emily - thanks for the response. Do you know what brand of plastic polish/scratch remover it is? Thanks!
