I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, but this is new to me. I didn't know there were 2 different labels for this game (although very minor). Here are pics:
TOP PIC: You can see the top game has the traditional "EA SPORTS" in the top-left of the label. The game below it has "EASN", similar to the logo of ESPN.
BOTTOM PIC: As you can see, one game has the '93 at the end... the other does not.

Again, sorry if this is common knowledge to the SNES community.

i didn't know, i don't even know which one of those i have ;)
but afaik, noone in the snes-community (if something like that even REALLY exists) cares for label variations, there are SO many very small changes made to labels, even more in europe, i personally would never consider a snes collection incomplete if it only had one of those two variations..
btw, you can see if the label was changed by checking the number on the label, see the ones on the pic?

those numbers indicate label changes, if there's a 2 on some label it means at least 3 different labels exist for this game, often you won't find any difference though, same goes for boxes and manuals, you'll find those numbers there too

Interesting nintendan, i never relised that before, and i'm one of those snes collectors that has to have an extra copy of a game because there is another version (label change) of the same game :-P
The same with the million seller games i make sure i have them as well ;)

Just out of curiosity.. would something as minor as this make it way into the book or online guide??
Personally, I think it should, because it is a variation. That, and maybe I could get some credit. ;)

There are slight changes in the game, mainly dealing with the change in brand name. Madden 93 has the same change.

It would get added to the description field.

Off topic Joe, is that Kryton from Red Dwarf in your avatar?

The instruction booklets for the nhlpa game are different too. I noticed that and I also noticed the madden and madden 93. I doubt that it is worth any more though.

Yeah, if you get all picky and such, you would have to list minor things like the version of Mortal Kombat II that has a demo mode.
