I -really- need to find a system soon. And get a complete collection, I have a feeling I'll regret it if i don't otherwise.

The NGAGE will be the second (game.com) system that has come and gone in my lifetime without me caring at all.

I really want a QD myself. But I'm not willing to pay anything near what they sell for.

The problem is that its "with a phone plan." If it were practically free, with no strings attached, then I'd buy one in a second. Unfortunately, I haven't seen many selling for less than $50 w/o a contract. I want a gaming system, not a two-year commitment.

I want to eventually get one of these. I grabbed some cheap games at EB--now I just need a system to play them on!

The news isn't shocking. The fighting game called "One" looked pretty impressive. If I were Nokia I would can the N-Gage ASAP. Stop bleeding money Nokia!

Nothing against you in particular, but I always laugh when people make statements like this from the outside. Just pulling hardware off store shelves when you have a few more (final, apparently) apps - including from Sega - would be dumb when you've got way more N-Gages than you need and a possibility to sell them. They should try to sell some of 'em for the game itself. As for the production facility, I *highly* doubt there's been any work done there since the initial batch of QD units came out.

They'll probably keep selling them for a while, unless they can get some sort of tax rebate for destroying them. It's the beginning of the fiscal year so they've got some time to think about that.

No surprise of course. This should've happened sooner.

That's exactly what I want to say.

I tell people I want a cheap N-Gage they all respond with "it's practically free with a phone plan". I have a phone, I don't want an N-Gage as a phone. I want an N-Gage QD AND and N-Gage original for about 30.00 each or less. I want to play my 10+ cheap N-Gage games I have

I hear what you're saying Ed and by no means did I mean to just pull em off the shelves. Of course they should get rid of what they have. I agree with ya.

I just hope this thing sticks around long enough for Falcom to bring Xanadu Next over here.

Our game shop in Scotland (Edinburgh to be precise!) has just been given a pod with 2 N-Gages and a whole bunch of games to demo as well as lots of stock. From what we can gather Nokia seem to be giving it one last push before the DS and PSP hit our shores in March. Maybe they are just off-loading their crap on us but we're getting it pretty cheap anyway!

As far as the "free with a phone plan" is concerned... enter your zip code here to find a plan like that. In my area there was a plan to get a QD with service and after rebates pocket $50 bucks.

For those who just want a console I'll ask my sons friend if he's still selling his. I could probably hook one of you guys up for around $50/$60 shipped for the original N-Gage he has/had for sale. I think he still has the original packaging too.

PM if you're interested in this deal and I'll look into it for you. I almost did it myself just for the console but decided it wasn't really something I wanted to play long term.

hmm...hopefully I'll run into an N-gage at a thrift or garage sale. If I do, I'm grabbin' it! Some of the games looked pretty good, like Rayman and monkey ball. Either way, I always hate to see a system go under, especially one with untapped potential.

makes me glad i kept the promo kit i took from gamestops garbage...and the display box..

i was contemplating getting the old style ngage they have at my local gamestop for $59 or something. it has the box but no ins. kinda of expensive, but how likely is it that ill find one with the box anywhere else?

i suppose just like all the abandoned game systems though...wait long enough one will turn up at a garage sale or junk shop...

I honestly didn't know they were still even making them. All the stores near me stopped carrying them months ago.

Oh well, I may never get a boxed unit, but at least I still have my copy of Tomb Raider. That proves it did exist at least.

Well according to "Alternative Handheld emulation", the N-gage isnt going anywhere.

Rumours spreading across the internet have suggested that Nokia's N-Gage gaming and mobile phone unit may be about to get killed off - but Nokia has told us that they're not hanging up on N-Gage just yet.
"Nokia have no intention of shutting down the N-Gage," we were told by a spokesperson for N-Gage today. "We are completely committed to the platform. It's not going anywhere."

The Enquirer > PR noise :)

I was under the impression that the Inq. was equally untrustworthy as PR. babble, but I guess it was another news site :/

Actually the Inq. article mentions Q1 2006, which I seem to recall nokia mentioning as their goal in supporting the n-gage also. Heck, even if the N-gage was a success, the tech will be a bit long in the tooth by 2006 anyway (and this is the mobile phone industry we're talking about).. Bring on the N-gage 2!

Well, my local Toys R Us was selling off it's old stock of Ngage games for only five pounds last week! Shame they hadn't any recent title sthough, only the older first wave games, but for a fiver each, who can moan?

I even bought the shitty Fifa 2004 seeing as it's only the price of a Big Mac meal...

I may even try and go for a complete set of Ngage games... How many have been released so far?

I'm also wondering whether GameStation and GAME are going to do the same, and sell off their stock cheap... Seeing as both tend to still charge full RRP for Ngage games (I doubt they sell many, if any at all!) - Neither has had Ngage games on the shelves for months, yet they still sell them (Or rather, still have them offered for sale)
