For some reason I have started adoring Tengen NES games (complete in box, w/ instr. and Tengen sleeve). The only one I have so far is RBI Baseball, but I also have Klax coming in the mail right now. For some reason I have become infatuated with Tengen, and have decided to collect all of the Tengen NES games (complete). My NES collection only has about 50 games, and I feel that this would just be a kinda cool thing to do, So I decided to really start off my NES collecting with a full set of NES Tengen games...

Anyways, I was wondering... what kind of stuff do you guys get into that isnt run-of-the-mill. Is anyone else a fan of one certain type of cart manufacturer, or am I just weird :hmm:

i can agree with you on this, i have a fetish for strange looking games that differ from standard packaging, like i am in love with PAL dreamcast games, and one of these days im gonna finally find someone to trade me a PAL copy of pokemon snap because i think the box art rules.

.......or like the styles of Neo-Geo AES, plus almost all of the games are at least decent, making it collector's dream.

tigervision carts for atari 2600 look really sweet

i've always loved imagic carts, they have that cool mirror finish

color dreams add a little style to the gray wall of NES games

and just about anything boxed from japan

like i am in love with PAL dreamcast games

Oh my gosh YES! I love everything about the PAL releases, although I supposed I don't mind the fact that the US releases are in regular cases -- my collection is more compact because of that :)

I have placed some bids on common DC PAL games just because I think they look good though...

Anything that tells me it's special, collector's, deluxe, or ultimate is pretty much just begging me to spend my money on it. I love box sets, compilations and special edition goodies.

Speaking of compilations, Phantasy Star should be out soon....

Personally I really like the Color Dreams games, as well as the AVE games. By the way, you are now starting to get infected with the collecting bug, pretty soon you will want ALL games released for the NES, and soon after that you will probabley want all games for ALL systems. LOL This is exactly how it starts.

Nice choice of collections, I'm doing the same thing. I have 19 of the 20, missing the famed Tengen Tetris. Most of them I've bought the cart and later gotten boxes and manuals, but a couple I got lucky to get it complete. I think all of them have regular NES black sleeves, or those colored Funcoland sleeves when I ran out of the black ones, and I think one my completes has a Tengen sleeve, I forget which one right now.

I've started collecting sealed NGage games... looking to get a complete collection. I know I'm competing with CMOSFM for starters on this bit...

Anything Japanese looks great in my opinion. Especially Saturn & DC stuff.
There my 'new obsession'

I like collecting the smaller box Amiga games, which they stopped producing in about 1992. Also the plastic box games are nice, don't have that many yet though.

I've been toying around with the idea of either getting a complete NGPC collection or a complete TRS-80 collection. (I'm usually just the kind of guy who buys anything wherever, whenever, and not really going for any certain collection.) I've been thinking about those two in particular because all the NGPC games are fun, and all the TRS-80 games are dirt cheap! LOL

I loooooove super famicom games. The boxes are amazing to look at. Thankfully, I've got a converter so I can play them, too! I really need to learn japanese for some of these obscure RPG's though.

I like to pick up anything that isn't well known outside of our little circle of games, such as SMS or later Atari stuff. For a while now, I've also been wanting to get some more N64 stuff. If only they weren't so expensive.

a complete TRS-80 collection.

speaking of which, i've got a 40 something strong stack myself, without really trying either. now the question is what exactly do boxed coco games look like. i had a boxed tetris on a card with blisterpack (late release) and a androyme (spelled it wrong) in a very snug little silver cardboard sleeve type box. did coco games ever have proper long boxes like other consoles? anybody got a good gallery of boxed coco games?

Tengen released power supplies for the NES. Did anyone else know about this?

In response to the TRS-80 questions: The TRS-80 COCO 1 and 2 games generally came in generic grey cardboard boxes (all are the same). The COCO 3 games generally came in generic small plastic blister pack (again, all the same). There are a few games (likes the Rubik's cube game) that came in a large plastic blister pack because the manual was larger There isn't much fun in collecting COCO boxes because they are all the same. I would stick to cart and manual. Also, there are now three rarity 10 COCO games (check the DP rarity guide) which are extremely difficult to find.
