Help us figure out this game reference

Recently while watching an anime called Arcade Gamer Fubuki, Cryomancer and myself were wondering who Fubuki was suppose to be playing as in the last episode.

We figure that Mr. Mystery is suppose to be either the guy from Space Harrier or maybe Cobra(leaning more towards the Space Harrier guy). But we cannot figure out who she's suppose to be. As for my guesses, I was thinking either Michelle Heart, and if it's not the same person, the chick from Ledgendary Wings. That, or a winged Athena.

Meh pretty generic looking, could be from any number of games, maybe even one thats never been released outside of Japan.

Going with the Sega arcade theme, it almost looks like Tyris Flare from Golden Axe (except her costume is red and white, not gold and red):

Judging from the background i'd say that indeed is the Space Harrier dude.

I'd say that she is dressed as Tyris Flair....except for the wings.

Well, if we don't have to assume that she's the same sex as the character that she's playing, and we're sticking with a MegaDrive game theme, then maybe she could be playing the winged warrior from Gynoug? (Wings of Wor)

Trademark happy face? (I've never gotten around to SH2...speaking of which the 'mask' made me think of *another* series abbreviated to SH)

Anyhow, I'm going to say that's not Tyris Flare, and very likely not supposed to be (yellow + red and long gloves, as opposed to white + red and bracelets). There's probably a ton of anime characters who look something like that, but as far as game characters go - no clue.

I got it from alt.bin.emulators.arcade sometime last year. I'm sure it's on emule or such. 4 episodes....references include digdug, extended playing of Fantasy Zone, a subplot involving a Tranquilizer Gun cab, game and watch used as alarm clock, and so on. Also, the character "leader" is voiced by Segata.

Ok, ok, I take back what I said earlier. I actually found the person you are looking for while playing Cardfighters' Clash (go figure, eh?). Here's a picture:

All I know is her name and that's she from a Capcom game. Any guesses? Legendary Wings?

That's probably Michelle Heart. Most recently, she was a helper character in Marvel vs. Capcom.

Originally, she was a playable character in the Japanese version of Legendary Wings (Legendary Soldiers).

See, that's what I was thinking too, but Michelle uses a gun, not a sword. But I ahven't played Legendary Wings that much. What's her damage splash in cardfighters look like, is it like Jill's or like Leo's? If it's a sword slash than I buy it.
