I highly recommend you try this out if you havent already! Go get the ROM!
its a classic platformer, similar to Jet Set Willy/Manic Miner

So is anyone else a fan of the games?

(im actually going to rent the movie out tomorrow night with my girlfriend as i havent seen it yet! Even though i love the Goonies Theme cover New Found Glory do!)

I am a big fan of the 8-bit computer version by DataSoft.

No idea if they are related at all...

I enjoyed both the C64 and NES ones. I don't understand why Konami didn't release the first NES game in North America though( except in PlayChoice form).

I own a complete copy of Goonies 2 for NES, but for some reason i have always found this game boring hehe. I remember playing it at a friends house back in the NES days too, didnt like it much then either.
But i guess its a matter of taste. Maybe its cooler if you have seen the movie, which i havnt.

I have always been a huge fan of the Goonies. I beat the NES version of Goonies 2 back in the day with a little help from Nintendo Power.

Best,
Jarett

P.S. If you haven't already, you've got to check out Goonies.org for the hilarious Goonies documentary.

Goonies.org? Looks like a domain squatter got to it. Try thegoonies.org .

Anyway, if you want to try out the first Goonies game, the MSX cracker group known as Friends released a recompiled version for the PC that does not require an emulator. You can get it at (where else?) Underdogs.

I like the original NES Goonies so much that it was the first repro that I ever had made. I know it's on many multi's, but the game is so great that it deserves its own spot in my NES library.

The Goonies 2 holds a special place in my heart. I played that game so much with my brother back in the day. Those were fun times...

Listen to The Advantage's Goonies 2 song, and love it.

Loved the couple Goonies games I had on C64. Hated the one for NES. It was NO fun.

The MSX Goonies was one of the first MSX games I played on an emulator. I like it a lot, though it is the most unusual Goonies game. Mikey is for some reason trying to rescue 7 little boys from some wierdo guy with sunglasses and a beard. (Presumably he's supposed to be a Fratelli.)

Farthest I could get on it was level 3. There appears to be some kind of password feature in it, but I have no idea to how to access it.

The two Nes/Famicom Goonies games are two of the all time classics on that system. The Datasoft Goonies game looks pretty neat. Can anybody recommend a good C64 emu?

WinVICE is good. I haven't tried much else to know if there's anything better but it was pretty accurate.

Goonies 2 for NES is an absolute masterpiece in every way.

And I just realized I never uploaded the map for it that I made a couple years back.

Enjoy. I don't think I missed too many secret rooms. Heh.

Think I may go back and play Goonies 2 on the NES sometime soon. Haven't played that one in ages. Really nice game, which surprised me when I first played it to be honest, even though it was made by Konami (I probably would have been too frightened to bother with a movie related game otherwise).

My buddy Ron is a Huge Goonies fan..He's got all kinds of stuff the movie etc..He'd love this topic..

He has a Goonies game on a Cassette in it's case..
I have no clue what system it's for(?)

Thanks for the Screenshots.. :)

I've had this MSX version in my collection for the longest and never played it..

I forget what system the cart below is for......(Famicom?)

I have played Goonies on a multicart though and it's pretty cool..

Looks like a famicom cart to me, though it doesn't look official in the slightest, (most Famicom carts aren't anyway are they). My friend had Goonies on the Famicom back in the 80's. Never seen the actual famicom cart of that one though.

I always did wonder why the first one never saw the light of day on the NES. Seems awful strange to me considering it was based on an American license.

I suppose Goonies II is the closest we'll ever get to a decent Lord of the Rings 2D platformer. (Mikey looks an awful lot like samwise, I can't quite place it...)

I love the Goonies 2 for the NES. I have never beaten it though, I find the game pretty hard. I have a copy of the game I play, 2 factory sealed NES versions, and I have the game on my Playchoice 10 countertop. I LOVE THE GAME!!
This is coming from a person that the Goonies movie is either my #1 or #2 movie OF ALL TIME.
