R9 in the guide. However, I had no problems getting myself a brand-new one at CGE for $10 (or so) and last time I searched on Ebay (months ago) I found someone selling them brand new for a similar price, and they had 59 left in stock.
The catch is, these were all cart-only. Is this a similar situation to U.S. Last Blade, where carts were produced but a very very small amount of boxes & manuals were produced?

Good luck finding a complete uk verion for $10. eBay and other video game liquidation outlets are all flooded with loose carts. It's really the box and inserts that hold all of the value.

Are you talking about the Japanese version, Karl? From my experience the UK one ALWAYS goes for a mint and rarely appears online. I'll run this by our section editor but there's a huge difference between the R3 Japan cart and the R9 UK one.

The second link has a picture, in which you can clearly see that the game's part number is the UK one, not the Japanese one.

Don't you find it a bit odd that the part number in their catalog is different than the one in the picture?
I dunno, I'm not an expert on this system. Mat or Larry can take a peek at this and explain or adjust our guide. Thanks for the clues!

I didn't notice that. But it isn't the japanese part number.
I'm quite sure this is one of the games with tons of loose carts floating around, sort of like Faselei is. You can feth the UK cart for less than $10, but expect to pay well for a complete copy.
Also, while we are discussing the NGPC Scarcity/Price listings, I think that the caption for the US Last Blade, should mention that it is the only other cart only release besides Faselei!.

Re the last point, it does, the entry for Last Blade US tells you to go read the entry for US Faselei ;)
Almost any loose cart for the NGPC be it UK, US or Japanese can be had quite easily and quite cheaply (under $10 usually). Prices and rarities in the NGPC guide are for COMPLETE ONLY.
Even loose UK Pocket Reversi carts, as demonstrated, are not that tricky to find in general. You try finding the box and manual though...

Yeah most of the later UK NGPC games are hard to find loose or complete.

maybe all the originally returned unsold stock has been dug up and released minus the case/manual as there's been a huge influx of them on ebay.co.uk in the alast couple weeks

Actually no. I picked up many of the harder to find titles in the last days of SNK here in the UK for not a great deal of money. I missed out on Pocket Reversi though; should have picked that up as I'm sure I did see it on the shelves. That one did cost me a bit. But many of the others were no more than £20 ($30) at the time.
As for all the loose UK Pocket Reversi carts, it is a bit strange. The general feeling is that all the unsold copies (quite a lot) were returned to SNK in Japan for either relabelling into Japanese copies, or reburnt into new titles. Estimates put the number of complete copies at under 100. So where all these supposed loose copies have come from I'm not sure. I'll do some asking :P

In my personal hunts for a complete US NGPC collection ive seen that Fasalei uk copies are around quite a bit, but boxed ones (I checked a few days a go and saw 2 complete ones recently) are a different thing, and when they are around, they arnt cheap.
I'd think that the Fasalei issues were similar to the US ones. They sat in a wherehouse kinda thing until someone was able to buy out the stock and ebay flooded them? That or since they did those NGPC+6 game bundles (of which I noticed a disproportionate number of the carts ive seen have been UK copies) have just worked themselves back into the flow of things.
